body type and working out

Hi Cathe,

Thank you for responding to my other message. This message refers to my workout and the results I have seen. I am five ft. four and weigh about 120 pounds. I have very small bones, and most of my weight settles in my hips and bust. I work out doing step, mostly your videos (now that I discovered them) about five days a week. I do weights, either power hour, or maximum intensity strength, two to three days per week. Sometimes, I also go to the gym and lift weights. I also walk about two miles a day during lunch and take one yoga (pretty tough class) one night a week. I can do full pushups, about three sets of ten, lots of leg work and feel that I am in good shape, but I do not get a lot of muscle definition. My husband says that I am very feminine, but it is frustrating because I do not look more toned. Do you have any suggestions, such as your slow and heavy series ( which sounds intimidating to me).

Thanks,

Becka

Hi Becka! This could simply be your genetic structure which means that you will surely be able to get improvements but you will have to work very hard for more definition. I definitely would suggest the slow heavy series and possibly cutting back on a bit of your cardio, say eliminating or at least cutting back to only walking at lunch two times per week. Good Luck!

Hi Becka, I just want to add that I've found the tapes you've been doing-Power Hour and MIS-way more scary than Slow & Heavy or Pure Strength! I guess because ph and mis make you keep on going for a long time when your muscles are burning. SH/PS are not at all unpleasant to do, and the difficulty is determined by you with your choice of weights. What I'm saying is, I think you've already mastered the hard ones. :) Kath
