Hi everyone,
Just made it on here to give a quick update.

Today was runervals 7.0 workout A. on the sprints I did 6.5 for 1-6 and then 6.6 on 7-10. I am not a runner so this is big for me. If the sprints are longer than 30-45 seconds I am going down in speed.

I am doing Gayles upper body but am thinking on the second back yesterday to put in pull/chin ups instead of the BB row. I guess to get some practice before STS comes out.

I have the Woody PullUp Bands so it will help. The last time I did this I could only get 4 out so I figure if I start now maybe I will be able to do 12 by the end of BFL :D

Gotta Run,
Rhonda

Hey guys - What a bunch of challenging workouts you've done!

I'm feeling kinda blue since I just got a bit of a dressing down from our department chair. Don't you hate that? And the worst part is, he's right - I slipped up. Gr. At times like this it is SO easy for me to beat up on myself and think that my career is totally in the toilet. Thank goodness for the exercise -- if it wasn't for the workout-related stress reduction, I would be feeling even worse. I hope you all are having a better day!!

Kathy – HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!! Enjoy your day and eat lots of cheat food! No – really! I just read this article in M&F Hers that said a cheat day is BETTER than a cheat meal. It takes a whole day to fire your metabolism back up….something to do with your levels of leptin….but the take-home message was definitely – eat up!

Kim – Great job on the AM workout after being up at night! Your dedication will definitely pay off!

Michelle – I am so impressed that you get up at 4:30 every morning – that is a real achievement! As for the munchies….well, Stephanie said it all with that picture! Yuck! I’ve heard bodybuilders say that their physiques are 10% exercise, 10% genetics and 80% nutrition, but I also think that nutrition is the toughest part. It’s so much easier to do something (work out) than to not do something (keep yourself from eating yuck foods)! Maybe you could take your mind off it by you doing some window shopping or watching a movie…

Gayle- Way to go on the outdoor run! Glad you finally have some nice weather. What do you do with the GPS system?

Belinda – Fantastic on getting the ABS workout in -- I’d be lying in the floor in a heap after 73 min of Hardcore Extreme Hi/Low Intervals…..but I knew YOU definitely had an ab workout left in you!

Hi Melissa – Hope you survived the Chinese food! I was going to say, the chicken /beef and broccoli is usually not fried and free from strange syrupy sauces!

Stephanie – Brussels Sprouts LOL! That made me laugh! What cardio did you end up doing? BTW I hate cardio too – I can stand about 30 minutes before the boredom/innate laziness sets in!

Carolyn – How were legs today? Which WO did you choose?

Me, I am kinda in a funk and don’t feel like working out – it is cardio day though…any suggestions? Do you guys have a workout that always picks you up?

Take care everyone –

Christina

Melissa -

I'm so irritated right now. I have yet to workout. I had to wait for the termite guy to come, (yes, we have termites) and it took him 2 hours, then I had to feed the littles ones and now I have to pick up at preschool. I always, always workout in morning and I am feeling very grumpy right nowx(
Now I have to wait until the kids go home at 4:30 and I ususally end up too tired to workout. Plus my eating is great when I workout early.

I really want to do LB. Help me decide what to do. I want major DOMS!!

Carolyn

Melissa-this is probably too late, but you can ask for steamed veggies and sauce on the side. That's what I get all the time!

Christina-the GPS (global positioning system) goes on my wrist; it's also a heart rate monitor so I also wear the chest strap. Turn on the GPS, it locates a sattelite way up in the sky, and it tracks my speed, distance, pace, route, heart rate, etc! MY NEW TOY and I LOVE IT!

Hey everybody! Sounds like we're rockin and rollin again today, hugh? I've got my fridge (and freezer) stocked with tons of stuff, including Roasted Veggie Soup, White Bean Soup, a big ol' head of cabbage (which, really, is just a large BRUSSEL SPROUT!).

OH! And I wanted to share this link:
http://www.bodyforlife-tracker.com/contestfinalists.cfm?id=2
It's a list of all the finalist that completed a 12 week challenge set up over at the BFL forum, called Fall Tracker Cruise Contest. Voting closes tomorrow and the judges will name and announce the winners next week sometime. Grand Prize??? A CRUISE to the BFL convention/gathering in July!!! KEep your fingers crossed! I'd LOVE to win that!

Gayle

Christina, I'm sorry your having a bad day. :( Tomorrow is another day! :D I ended up doing MIC hi/lo...kicked my butt! I'm not much of a cardio fan but I like the music in LIS and HIS (4-day Split). Good luck with whatever you choose!

Gayle, I voted for you!!! Good luck! LOL on the "cabbage"!

Belinda, how do you fix your Brussel Sprouts?

Hi everyone!!

Sorry to barge in on your check-in but I wanted to quickly say that....GAYLE!!! I was wandering around the BFL site and saw that I could vote for you---so I DID! You should totally post the link on the OD! So many people would vote for you--you'd win that cruise for sure!!!

Where are you guys going to vote? Am I just not seeing it?

Oh, and I ended up having steamed veggies & white rice. It was actually really good!

ETA: Never mind, I just re-read Gayle's post with the voting info...duh!

Hi Everyone:)

Gayle, I'm excited for you, I just wanted you too know I voted for you. I had to register, but it was well worth it. Good Luck!!! My fingers are cross :) :)

OMG! I had NO idea that non-members were able to vote! I had no clue! I'm not sure that I'd feel right, though, posting on the open forum about it though. Would you? I'd kind of feel like I'm stuffing the ballot box! LOL

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM....I'm also running for PTA President for 2008-2009 school year. Will you all vote for me for that too? LOL

THANKS YOU GUYS! YOU ALL ROCK!!!!!!!!!!

Gayle

I need your help...I talked my DH into getting me a treadmill!! }( It took 5 days of hard work and planning...teeheehee.

I am looking at this one at Wal-mart http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=7789793 and I'm also looking at Play It Again Sports. Should I be leary of getting a used one? Do you have any advice on what to look for in a treadmill? What do you think of the Gold's Gym brand vs any other? I like the ones with the MP3 player or I-Pod connection so I can use my iTreads.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Stephanie-just a few things to think about, when buying a TM, either new or used:
***what's the max speed
***what's the max incline
***is the tread long enough for you to feel comfortable
***run and walk on it to test out the stability
***what kind of warranty does it come with
***how old is the walking belt
***how much was it used before Play It Again got it

Just a few thoughts.

OH....and

Gayle for President!!!

Gayle - you should definetly post on OD about the voting! You are an inspiration to everyone, not just us BFL'ers!!!

I voted for you...because YOU ROCK!!!
