Body Fat Scale question

I purchased a body fat scale a short while ago and when I first got on it and did the reading it said my body fat was something like 37.?%. I've lost about 10# and it now says my body fat is 24.3%. I'm still a good 30# to 40# overweight for what I should be for my height.

Can 10# really drop your body fat from 37 to 24? Or because I'm doing STS am I building that much muscle that the body fat is going down and the scale is not?

Those scales are extremely sensitive to your hydration level. The higher your hydration level is, the lower your body fat percentage will show, and the higher your muscle mass will show.

I got one of those scales about a year back. I"m roughly 5'7" & weight 130 lbs or so. I exercise about 5-6 hours/week & consider myself pretty fit.

The scale told me I was about 68% bodyfat.:eek: I returned it the very next day!!!!

You give me hope! :) I have lost 20 lbs. and my BF scale still shows my body fat at around 30%. It hasn't moved! I'm trying to teach my DH how to use my calipers as those are quite accurate if handled properly!
