Body Fat % Question

After reading the post re: low % body fat, can you please tell me how you measure it? I've seen those gadgets where you "pinch" the body fat around your waist. Are they accurate? If so, where can you buy them? Just wondering what mine is. Maybe I don't want to know :-(

Thanks. :)

Dana: Saw your message while reading the replies for my post below. I got my calipers at www.bodytrends.com, I got the one called "Accumeasure"...it only requires a single pinch test at your "waist" (they tell you where in the booklet) rather than the 3 sites that other calipers require that are more difficult to get at unless you have someone help you (your back and back of your arm). A fitness article by Tom Venuto recommended this one. I think it was $15 or $20 including shipping.

Anyhow. The accumeasure folks say that calipers and underwater testing (the other way of doing it) are equal in accuracy for people between the 15 and 40 percent bodyfat range. They say that underwater testing becomes progressively less accurate below 15 %. Which may just be marketing talk/hype but I was surprised. I had always heard underwater testing was the most accurate for any range. I suppose all that really matters is using the same method each time so you can compare apples to apples over time.
