BMI Scale?

I am doing Cathe's STS program. My goal is to lose weight/fat and gain muscle. I am thinking to buy a BMI scale so I can see if I am losing fat. Any thoughts? Does anyone have any recommendations on a certain scale or is it a bad idea to get one...?

I would suggest getting a scale that gives you your percentage body fat as well as your BMI. If you do get one, it is best to weigh yourself at the same time each day to see changes over time. Interestingly, Cathe wrote about this in a couple of her recent blogs.

I have a scale that measures % body fat, water % in the body, bone mass and BMI. It is put out by Weight Watchers and sold at Walmart. It has worked well for the last few years.

You may wish to combine the measurements the scale gives you with a record of your body measurements - waist, hips, thigh, bicep.

Good luck, Amwalker93! I had the same goals when I did STS and I did find the program helped me to lower my percentage body fat and gain some visible muscle. Of course, what one eats play into the results! ;) But the body fat scale can help to keep us honest, on track and motivated.

Thank you! If I get a percentage scale, could I just get rid of m regular scale? I dont think I would need both right?
