Makes a lot of sense. I'm guessing that if you need to lose only, say, 5-15 lbs. or something like that, the best way for a typical woman to do it would be to eat around 1700 calories per day of nutritious foods, and lose the weight slowly. Then you would retain more muscle and lose more fat than doing it more quickly.

I've always believed that old adage that the slower you lose, the longer it stays off. This seems to explain why it works.
