bloating - blech!

Ok, ladies, I've recently taken myself off of the pill--migraines were worsening, high blood pressure..I just felt like I needed a break..

Well, welcome back Aunt Flo and all her accompanying friends -- sore boobs and bloating/water retention for up to 2 weeks prior to starting my period. I know there is nothing I can do for the sore boobs part:confused: - although them being bigger is nice:rolleyes: Is there anything I can take for the water retention? I don't want to take diurex or any of the over-the-counter meds really. I know plenty of water and caffeine can help (I sure get enough caffeine between am coffee and tea throughout the day).

Any advice, thoughts, opinions or general comments?? ;)

Heidi - I try to stay away from any medicines, but there are some natural things you can take, teas that are good for that, and foods that work well. I posted a while back on what I had researched concerning this. I don't have time now, but will look later for you, or you can search under my name for my posts. It was probably a month ago. I did tons of research on it b/c I can go from very pleased with my body to a bloated, miserable being in 2 seconds flat. There goes my stomach, my definition, and I feel terrible. Best wishes to you.

I read watermelon and celery are excellent natural diuretics.

I went off the pill a few years ago, and my body has done all kinds of weird stuff since then. First my cycle was short, then it was erratic, and now it has reverted back to the cycle I had back when I was a teen (bloated, crampy and heavy). I have my theories as to why, but nothing concrete. It's very bizarre.

I suffered with water retention until I started working out with weights. For some reason, I no longer put that water weight on anymore. I'm really not sure why though.

Thanks for posting the link - I may go to our health food store and look for some teas/natural remedies. I appreciate everyone's help a lot!
