Blackberry - What the hell is it?

Ok, I'm not usually stupid when it comes to mechanical devices, but what the heck is a Blackberry? I've heard talk about it but have no clue what it is. Thanks!

It's a very annoying piece of technology that allows you to get email wherever you may be. Kind of like a cell phone. People can find you anywhere. I'm not sure if it does any other little tricks.

Mine is thumb-tip sized, dark purple, has hard seeds in it, and tastes delicious in a fruit salad with strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and banana. Of course, I live in a cave without a cell phone, internet access, cable TV etc, etc.

It is a combination cell phone and device that allows you to get an reply to e-mails.. I have one (I not by choice) and I swear I will not be one of those people that are addicted to it, you see them answering e-mails while waiting in line at the supermarket, at red lights, in doctor's offices etc. Drives me crazy!

The Blackberry (and Treo) are great when you go on International travel. I was provided one when I was on a two week assignment in Italy last year. It was especially useful in that I found out about a family medical emergency through using the Blackberry's e-mail and telephone capabilities. It also was useful when I called the travel agency to change my return flight to the states a few days earlier than the originally scheduled date.

For these reasons, the Blackberry/Treo are useful tools!

However, I agree with several of the posts that the use of the CELL PHONE is really annoying. I was at a massage place and this woman was on the cell phone yacking away while waiting for her massage. How rude is that!!!!

Blakberry is a wireless technology that allows devices, appliances etc talk to other things like the internet or cellular networks.

It's in the news because there is a court case concerning the patent. The owner of the patent is suing to have it shut down until he is properly compensated and the court agrees with him. There's only been about "1 billion" of things sold.
