Birth Announcement (finally!)

Georgia Anne made it into the world on Sep 16 via C-Section and was 7lb 1oz and 19 inches long. She looked exactly like the baby whose Mommy had exercised in the Dr Clapp book.

Apologies for not posting sooner and not congratulating some of you other new mommies (Congratulations to Jeni and Dana and anyone else I missed)!

I have had complications from the C section. Five weeks of nerve pain along the incision (my ob-gyn now thinks that my internal stitches may have torn trying to get out of bed or the like...it's been pure hell!)

I haven't started any formal exercises yet except for some very modified Pilates exercises ( mainly just the belly breathing). I'm a bit worried about adhesions (I have a few lumps along the incision ) - anyone know anything about scar tissue management?

Jeni, like you, I still look about 4 months prego - I think that is just the way I'm made, even though I gained far less weight this time around (somewhere between 30-35lb I think). I've still got about 15lb to lose, but that is the least of my worries right now. I want to be pain free and do some very careful exercising!

Thanks for being there,
Liz N

Congratulations Liz!!

I've been thinking about you and waiting for your announcement! I'm sorry that you've had complications from the surgery. Glad that you're being patient and letting yourself heal.
What does Sarah think of her new little sister?
Best wishes to all of you.
Hope you feel better soon!

Congratulations Liz! Wow, I sure hope you have lots of happy healing in your near future, sounds rough! Be sure to take it super easy and not rush getting back into shape.

I really like the name 'Georgia Anne', that's really pretty. I had actually considered the name 'Georgia Morgan' for a girl but we ultimately decided on a different name. Not that we know if ours is a boy or girl yet ;-).

Hope you're feeling better really soon, please let us know how things go. Take care and give your little treasure a big hug from all of us!

Congratulations!!! I've been thinking about you too and wondering how you and baby were doing. I'm sorry to hear about your complications but glad that you and Georgia Anne are healthy.

Take care,
Dana

Congratulations

on your new daughter! I'm sorry to hear about your complications and hope you are healing quickly. Rest as much as you can and take care of yourself while enjoying Georgia Anne (very pretty name!).

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! The book you recommended by Caroline Creager talks about massages for the lumps but she also recommends some procedures that a physical therapist may know about. I have lumps too but am not sure that I do the massages correctly so I'm going to try to find a therapist at one of my clubs to help. A friend of mine had a different kind of surgery on her stomach (to remove a huge cyst) and was given massages.

I love your baby's name! Ann is my middle name too (no "e"). I'm finding it a personal challenge to pace myself with the c-section recovery. Hope all continues to go well and I'll let you know what I find out about adhesions...

Talk to you soon! jeni

Congratulations Liz. Welcome Georgia Anne, how precious! Sorry to hear of your complications. Hope you are doing better now.
