Good afternoon everyone~
I'm just checking in really fast to start the thread... haven't worked out yet but hope to get to it soon.

Sabine, I think my workouts are as hard as they were before but the HIIT is so much faster and I think its actually easier on my knees because its a shorter amount of time w/impact. I may stay with the HIIT for an extended period of time post-Vegas. I'm pretty happy with the results and I'm happier with the extra time I have in my day without trying to fit in 2 hour workouts! :) Hence, if the results are the same I'm willing to use Cathe's workouts in spurts of HIIT. We'll see how it goes.

Lori, that's great about your trip- when do you leave??

Hellos to Joy, CinDee, Shywolf, Lisa, Elizabeth, Tracy, Pinky, Kim and Susan... hope all of you had a good weekend.

Hello to everyone!
Wow, I can't believe nobody's posted yet. I just got back from lunch. I've got to share this. I was sitting outside reading on my lunch break and one of the guys here came out with his lunch. About a year ago he decided to lose about 40lbs and started jogging everyday and eating tuna for lunch. I can't stand the smell or sight of tune. So anyway he comes out and is mixing up the following in a bowl: tuna, ketchup, and some kind of vinegrette salad dressing he found in the fridge AND he had a glass of prune juice. It almost made me gag. I had to sit there with my had over my nose so I wouldn't throw up. And he wonders why he wakes up with stomach aches. Anyway, just had to share it since I can still smell it. I had a decent weekend - did housework and yardwork - really exciting huh? I'm always so paranoid when I'm out working in the yard about getting poison ivy that I had on blue jeans, a sweatshirt, a hat and garden gloves. What a sight I must have been. It was only in the 60's so I guess it wasn't that strange. I'm really starting to see results from the body bar class I'm taking. I now believe all those people who told me that adding weights along with cardio can really speed up or help the fat loss. Well tonight is kickboxing so it'll be tough cardio. Sorry this was so long. Gotta go,
HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!

Hey everyone,

Brenda, based on your results, I definitely need to read up on HITT. I'll go back and see what you've posted. I need to find ways to get more done with less time.

I've decided I rock, or, at least I rocked yesterday. I did Cardio & Weights with all the same weights that Cathe used. C&W is certainly not Cathe's hardest workout, so it may not sound like much, but I haven't been doing a lot of cardio or weight work with that intensity for a while, so I was very pleased. It means to me that, for the most part, I'm not losing much strength even with my current rotation. Also, I don't think I told you all this, but I discovered that I can still go across the monkey bars. Actually, I should say still, because I don't think I could do that until recently. I can also do a pullup or two. I'd like to work on that more, so I guess there's going to be more visits to the tot lot for me!

Kim, did that guy lose his weight on that diet? Does he not exercise? He may be afraid to eat anything else, if that's what dropped the weight. It does sound awful though, to me, too!

Hello to Joy, Judy, CinDee, Sabine, Shywolf, Lori, Pinky, Elizabeth, Susan, Tracy, and all.

Lisa: He wanted to lose the weight for his blood pressure to go down and it did but now I think he's back on the medicine again. But he dropped the weight quick. He jogged about 6 miles in the am and then again at night. AND in the heat of the summer on his lunch hour he'd go run for about 4 miles with a sweatshirt on. He started eating more normal meals and gained about 10 lbs so I guess he's back on the tuna thing. UGH! Just thinking about it make me queezy.

Hello All!

Getting in late today- was really busy. Took my dog to the groomers (she was there most of the day as she is a REALLY hairy beast- yeah, but she's MY hairy beast!...:) ) and she's so tuckered out she's been sleeping non-stop on the foyer floor.

Went to the eye doctor on Fri and my vision went from 20/600 to 20/20 and 20/25 (was 20/25 and 20/50 the day after surgery) so I'm a very happy camper! My doctor believes it will get even better with time. It's just SO amazing and my doctor was the BEST including her staff.

I'm taking some time off from working out until early next week which is just as well as we're leaving for a short vacation in Vegas in a few days. I've been feeling pretty run down and one of the eye techs told me that I would probably feel fatigued. Lisa also recommended taking it easy during this time (thanks, Lisa!). I'm using this time to walk around the neighborhood with my dog, maybe some gentle stretching yoga, some reading and also making up my new rotation for when I'm back from my break. I've gotten such great info from Brenda about HIIT and Trevor about mixing and spicing things up a bit.

Brenda- when are you going to Vegas? It's such a fun city and we're looking forward to it as I'm sure you folks are! Enjoy your trip! The HIIT sounds really interesting and will be incorporating it in some fashion in my next rotation. Thanks for sharing your knowlege and experiences!

Lisa- You rock, girl! I did C&W (except the abs, was too wasted at the 45 min mark- I know, I'm a wuss...;) )and it can be pretty tough. I had a great vision of you scampering across the monkey bars-haven't done since I was a kid so good for you!! And congrats on keeping your muscle strength- I know the last few months have been trying for you. How's your new rotation coming along? Hope all's well.

Hellos to Sabine (Hope your paper went well!), Shywolf, Joy, Pinky, Kim, Cindee, Tracy, Judy and Susan (welcome Susan!). Hope eveyone had a great day and an even better one tomorrow!

Elizabeth
