big thighs

Hi

I was wondering how to get smaller thighs I was working my legs more but that only seemed to make them bigger. Does anybody have any suggestions?

I just wrote a thread about Kickboxing in Open discussion

Kickboxing is slimming my tights! I did KPC 3 times in the last 3 weeks and I already feel a difference and believe me, by body is made so my lower is bigger than my upper. It's absolutely not easy for me to loose weight in the bottom part of my body.
 
I also have large muscular thighs and with heavy weight training they were only getting bigger so I started doing more endurance type training for the lower body with moderate weight and it seems to be helping. I've also found that going heavy on upper body to build more muscle helps balance things out. Hope that helps.

No seriously, that works on thinning thighs out. And definitely, more of the endurance style and less heavy weights.
 
I am a runner and also did a lower body endurance focused rotation for a month. My results were squat. :( I thoroughly enjoyed the rotation and it was tough but got nothing out of it as far slimming my lower body. Perhaps I didn't do the rotation long enough??
 
could you give an example of Cathe DVDs as more endurance?
Do you mean more like Legs & Glutes or Butts & Guts instead of GS Legs?

The only Cathe workouts I don't do much of because of its focus on strength is Pure Strength legs and Slow and Heavy Legs. You can do any of Cathe's other workouts just don't go too heavy on the weights when the muscle group being worked is the quads. And when you do squats, lunges, etc. just make sure you put your weight in your heels so you're working your glutes and hamstrings more.

Also, I totally agree that running is probably the best workout to slim your thighs. Unfortunately I found that if I do too much step aerobics they tend to build up my quads. I guess you could try lowering the step and upping the intensity. I'm just not willing to give up Cathe Step DVDs so I really think that running works wonders to balance things out.

I have the same problem! I have been using Cathe workout videos for years and love them. I have found though, that my thighs have gotten bigger (not fat, but bigger in size) and I want leaner, thinner legs and I'm afraid that after completing the STS program they will get bigger. HELP! Any suggestions? :confused:
 
Running works for me...

I am short, 5'2", and my thighs look big no matter what I do! I also find the best way to slim down somewhat is by Running. It's the only thing that seems to lean them out over any workout DVD I've used. Good Luck!
