Biceps Breakthrough!

I finally broke through TODAY!! I have been wallowing at the same weight for-EVER with my biceps. But today I did 10 reps at 20# YAY!! Of course I was dead the rest of the workout, LOL. I attribute this to P90X, which has really helped me progress.

Okay, don't laugh at me, all the ladies out there who can curl waaaayy more than that! :D

That is awesome! It feels so good to reach a new goal no matter how big or small. I have no idea what my max bi curl # is, so no giggles here! :7

Hey Sparrow, I'm not laughing I'm impressed. I'm trying do more than 3 curls with 15#. And you have sealed my fate - was teetering on the fence re purchase of P90X, today I fell over.

Now pick me up please, chest DOMS are bad today!x(

I know this is probably a stupid question (forgive me I am fairly new to this).
Are we talking about a barbell with 20# total or two dumbells weighing 20 lbs each? either way, congrats, I am impressed!
I'm still on 10# dumbells
PS

Wow, Sparrow, I am totally impressed. I've been stuck at 15 pounders for biceps forever!! I usually try to do a few with 20s but can not do very many. Which workout did you do? Congrats on a big sucess!!

Catherine

Thanks all!

It was two 20# dumbells,on the P90x back and biceps workout. I was *not* able to repeat it later on in the workout, with any other moves, so I still have work to do, of course. I was also actually cursing out loud on the last one. I think I said some words I've never actually said before....

LOL.

Melody, I've read your other posts about adopting children with special needs. Now that's impressive, and a strength I DON'T have.

.<-------- the significance of my biceps in comparison to your amazing family. :p

Sparrow, thanks for your sweet sentiment. I'm not amazing, but those boys are! They keep me young and are a ton of fun, hence the keeping me young.

Way to go!!

"Macha, macha gal...I want to be...a macha gal!"

I was able to do 20# bicep curls (a few!) for the first time with P90X. And 15# one-arm tricep extensions! The triceps were what was a big whoop for me!

I'm kind of jonesing for another go at Tony, but after my current "prehab" week or week and 1/2 (recovery, alternating TLT's and stretch workouts), I might do a few weeks of P90 Masters (which I've previewed, but haven't used yet, because I was waiting to get all of them...Sculpt 5-6 looks fabulous!).

Okay, inspired by this and by Emily (materialsgirl), I did MM last night and actually did 30 lbs for the slow bicep barbell curls!:)
