Good Morning Girls!!!

Hey girls! My DH is working today so its just me and the kids...im going to try a new workout that i rented yesterday at the liabrary called Crunch,Burning Dance Party...LOL! If i don't like it i will jump on the TM for a thirty minute run interval and then do some LB work..maybe that PLB down premix for thirty minutes!

My WI was CRAP..Im up 1.3lbs :mad: its ok,i expected to be up since my WI last week was almost a 4lb lost....maybe I will lost another three lbs next week:eek::D

ok,im gonna go read yesterdays thread and I will brb

Tish-Hi:) Im Amelia...Nice to meet you! I hope you had a good time with your friends last night...sounds fun! Its also nice to kinda get away for a while...ugh,I need a break from two babies,there driving me nuts:confused: i think a night at grandma's is in order,LOL;)

Hello and Good Morning to you all,

Well my bike was put together last night and of course I just had to try it out. (Needed batteries first for the monitor!) I am going to buy the Power pack because batteries are very expensive and wastefull.
Everything worked perfectly! I like it so far and got a great sweat going in just 20min using their demo ifit workout program that came with it.

Today I did an aerobic bike workout and went 7.5miles. I did my push-up challenge and did 40 push-ups for the days routine.

Time to shower and get on with my day. Not sure what I am doing as of yet. Everyone is still sleeping and my DH isn't feeling all that well. (Wine and candy do not mix!) ;)

Amelia: I weighed in today too! How can I be up three #'s!!! Something isn't right with this scale. I did do upper body work yesterday....Maybe that aggravating weight gain before TOM? Who knows....it will all even out soon. You are doing great so keep up the good work! Your workout sounds like fun! Make it a good one! I hope that you can catch a break once in awhile from the kiddos. ;)

Don't your in-laws live close by? Maybe you can drop the kids off for a few hours...

Heidi, yeah on the bike! No extra parts left over? ;) LOL (that's a joke around here!) Glad you enjoyed the ride last night! How do your legs feel this morning? 40 push-ups! That's wonderful! Think I'll start the challenge today.

Belinda, how is the flood situation? :confused: I hope you are all cleaned up! Are your kids in the path of the hurricane? What are your workout plans today? Hope you are having a great afternoon! :)

What a wonderful day we had yesterday! Relaxing, to say the least! We had the place to ourselves, being a work day for most people. The water was cool and the sky was cloudy with a temp of around 82. It was nice getting away. Amelia, load up and come hang out with us!

Leaner Legs is the plan for me today!
 
Hi Steph: Have fun with leaner legs! I chickened out the other day on this one!!! ;) I ran instead with DD. My legs feel very refreshed after the ride this morning. I should join you with your workout but I just showered. :)No parts left over after I pointed out to DH about some washers he missed... ;)
Nice to hear about your day at the waterfall. It was pretty cool here! 82 for huh? That sounds really nice right now.
Have fun with the push-up challenge too! You can do this!!!

Hello to Belinda: I hope you are doing well. Same goes for your kids!!! I watched the news on the hurricane this morning it looked pretty intense even at Cat 2. Hope all is well.

Heidi, glad you were "keeping watch" over DH and that you spotted those "extra" washers! ;)

Finished Leaner Legs...those low-end static lunges are killers! 16 singles, 4 2x2 ct, 4 3x1 ct, 8 singles, 4 3 ct hold...remember those? Ouchie! :eek:

Hi Amelia, Heidi and Stephanie! How is everyone doing?!?!

Ladies, I commend you for keeping this thread up and running for so long...very cool! :cool:

I'm starting another round of BFL on Monday and brace yourselves, I might even read the book this time..:eek: I've been pretty much going through the motions for the past few months and BFL really gave me great results. Time to hunker down and get serious again!

I hope you don't mind me popping back in!
 
Hey Melissa!!!

Glad to see that you are back with us!!! How was your summer? We have missed you and several others that I thought would be back once school got underway.
I don't have the book but I have the concept...that's basically how I am following BFL. Eat Clean, do weights and cardio three times a week alternating. Is that close enough? Let me know how you like the book. ;)

Ran into Gayle over at the push-up challenge thread. I have started this new challenge to gain better upperbody strength. :) I am hoping to be able to do 100 push-ups by the end!

I finally got my bike!!! Do you have any recommendations for getting used to the saddle? :) ;) My butt seems like it is bruised just from using yesterday and this morning!!!! HeHe

Steph: Way to go with the lunges! Those are tough and require lots of determination to stay down there! Great job! Get ready for the DOMS tomorrow!
It took both my DH and I to put the bike together because of the wire harnesses and so forth. I still have grease that needs to be applied somewhere but I haven't found it in the instructions! Oh...Well.

Still thinking of all the rest. I hope that you are doing well and look forward to hearing from you again soon.

Melissa, WELCOME BACK! :D So good to hear from you! I was MIA and just rejoined a month or so ago and was welcomed back with open arms. How's work, the family? I think I spotted a couple of pics of you at the RT...were you there?

Heidi, you have me wanting a bike now, thanks! ;) I have no more room for equipment. Maybe when DS moves out I can use his room. :p
Maybe your bum just needs to get used to the seat? Can you wrap a pad around the seat? I had a mountain bike and it came with a gel-type seat so when you sat on it the gel kinda squished around your bum. Does your seat have that? Good luck and keep us posted!

Hi Steph! Welcome to DOM land! :) I have DOMS from PUB fri and my push-ups yesterday! Chest is fried now!

I am going to look for a gel seatcover for the bike. I have one for my mountain bike but it won't fit. My DD tried it out a program last night and loved it! She too found that her seat hurt. My friend was over and she said I need more tush cushion...we all cracked up!!! Too Funny.

How about a timesaver upper workout? I am going to take a rest day I think.

Oh man...i was so bad last night,LOL! Time to get back on track today;) I was suppose to take a rest day today but i will do som kind of aerobic workout because of the calories i raked up yesterday:mad::confused:

Amelia: Ok....what did you get into? :) What cardio are you planning on? Make it a good one!

I am happy about my bike purchase. I just need the power pack so I don't have to keep buying batteries! It takes 4 D size! I also need a better cushion for the seat!
So with this in mind....my purchasing has to be cut back.
I am soooooo sad......I cancelled my STS order!!! :( I felt that I was really not ready for it and I still have so many Cathe workouts to go. I will try to adjust my workouts so they come close to the STS program.

Belinda: Wishing you and your family members still in TX are safe.

What is everyone's plans for today? Me....Yoga later to loosen up. Housework!

I decided to start today instead of tomorrow. Why give myself one more day to do more damage, right?!?

Heidi - did you end up getting the Gold's gym bike? From your description, it sounds similar. Replacing the batteries is kind of a PIA. I keep telling myself I'm going to order the power pack, but I haven't yet. I've only had to replace the batteries once so far though and I've had it since April and use it about 3-4 times a week. That's not too bad, I guess.

Amelia - I haven't been over at the OAL thread in a few weeks now. Same thing here, I've been lurking and too lazy to post..:eek:

Stephanie - yes, that was probably me! I went on the August RT. It was alot of fun, but I decided to drive this year and it turned into a nightmare. It should have taken me 5-6 hours from MA so I left at 2:30am on Friday morning so that I'd made the Friday step class. They ended up closing route 95 in the Bronx and we all had to be re-routed. I sat in one place for 2 hours. It was awful. It ended up taking me a little over 8 hours to get there. You can only imagine that I wasn't looking forward to the drive home on Sunday :(. I don't think I'll be doing that again anytime soon!!!

So, I have my meals already planned and in SparkPeople for the day:

M#1: slice of applesauce banana bread, 1/2 c egg white scrambled w/one whole egg
M#2: 1/2 cup 2% Fage mixed with 1/4 c crushed pineapple
M#3: whole wheat tortilla, 1/2 can white tuna & veggies
M#4: 2T red pepper hommus w/raw veggies & 1/2 whole wheat flat bread
M#5: 4 oz 93% lean beef, 1/2 sweet potato & steamed brocolli
M#6: banana protein shake mixed w/frozen strawberries

I'm supposed to do UB today, but I really feel in the mood for cardio. I need a good sweat. I think I'll do the second 1/2 of Imax 2 followed by BFL UB.

Melissa, your drive sounded dreadful! :confused: I'm glad you made it there are back in one piece! I bet when you arrived Friday you weren't in any mood to workout, were you? I'm sure you were completely worn out!

I ended up getting the NordicTrack Audio Rider U300 stationary bike. It has 20 programs included and 16 or so levels of resistance. It also has ifit capabilities. These are seperate workouts you can purchase and plug into the console. They each have 24 programs for an 8 week training cycle. The seat isn't all that great but I can get a gel cushion for it eventually. The seat can be adjusted forward/back or up/down for height.
It really took me awhile checking and comparing different models before I settled on this one. It was more expensive than the Gold's Gym bike but in the end I think it was worth it. My Treadmill is also from NordicTrac and I have had it for about 10 years. Their equipment is very sturdy and has lifetime frame warranties. Their repair people are fantastic!!!
I saw your pictures with Laine and you two look fantastic!!! I talk to her now and then keeping up with our workouts and kids.
That is terrible about your drive! I am glad that you were able to go just the same. It sounds like you all had a great time!!!

Hi ladies,

I am sorry I didn’t check in all weekend, we didn’t have a good connection in the mountains; there was a lot of cloud cover! Everything in our basement was moldy! What happened was that a pipe outside the house (that is under ground) broke and the water came through the walls in the basement; all my stuff (after we put our claim in) is not useable anymore. Since my DH and I couldn’t do anything accept clean it up, we decided to go to Garmisch-Partenkirchen Friday afternoon for the weekend. Grafenwoehr was raining, so we really couldn’t do anything with our stuff. I did manage to do a BFL leg workout on Saturday morning, and this morning I did iTread 13 at the gym at the resort. DH and I renewed our wedding vows in Garmisch this morning. DH and I also decided this weekend to move to another house the week after next, this is already our second flood in the house we live in now (last year we had water coming in the bathroom form outside!)

Thanks ladies for asking about my kids, they are fine! They did get a lot of rain in El Paso the last few days. Thank you so much!ladies You girls rock!

You and I are both in MA I believe so we get the same weather. You first then me. ;) How is school going for your DD? What grade is she in now? My son (youngest) is in the 8th grade. He just started advance Algebra! My DD or oldest son will have to help him with that one. It has been too long for me!!! ;) I hope that your DD has a great year!
