Good morning, and let’s get rolling! I’m still doing a second look in the a.m. just to be sure no one else posted first.

How is everyone on this fine, to be very warm (70 degrees) and sunny day! Can you tell I’m excited that spring is finally here? I may even get blooming daffodils in a few days.

Today is 4DS Chest and Back, and I plan to go heavier! Thanks to all of you, I’ll add either the 1.5# hand weights or 2# ankle weights (or both!). It’s so cool to know that I’m getting stronger! But I’ll get it in tonight because I needed the extra sleep this a.m.

For those of us not planning on the road trip at all, we could have a cyber road trip! I’m not even trying since we still need to plan our vacation for the summer, and right now my job seems to be getting a bit in the way.


Amelia – Keep the ticker! You’ve worked hard and the results show it! As for the pup, we have a 9 month old golden retriever who has a great personality, but she sure loves car rides, especially when she thinks they are to the dog park.

Carolyn – Great job finishing Low Max. I should get that one, too, eventually.

Heidi – Yeah on the weight bench! Let me know which barbell you decided on. It’s still on my list.

Stephanie – How are those abs today? When I did Coremax the first time, I was really feeling it.

Belinda – Good luck with the house cleaning! Maybe Heidi can help – she seems to be getting lots of practice!

Kathy – Wow, a 50K! Next you’ll be doing ultra’s right alongside Dean Karnazes. And forget the guilt. If I lived that close, I wouldn’t think twice!

Gayle – Great workout on the lawn. Can you come stock my fridge, too? With spring soccer starting, our schedule is getting nuts once again.

Michelle – My cardio is restricted because I fractured my toe 3 weeks ago (yes, I’m counting) but by this weekend, I should be able to do it all.

Melissa – So sorry to hear about your job. I’m sure it will all work out.


Highlight of the day will be to get my car back. It’s been in the shop since it started revving the engine all on its own on Friday. Both the dealer and Honda have had an earful from me. At least I’m providing entertainment for my coworkers – they’re finding my discussion quite humorous.

Off to get ready for work. Hope you have a good sweat and eat clean!

Sherry-A cyber road trip sounds FUN...count me in!! Oh and I love golden retrievers,they have great personalities. so cute how she thinks she going to the dog parks. Ive got a black lab myself,who is the bigggest baby. Shes a wonderful dog guard though,but put a singing spongebob in the yard and shes all 'tail between the legs running' lol;-)Yay on getting your car back

I just don't get it? My Braves aren't doing to well:-( They got there but kicked last nightx(x(

so,todays workout is gs legs and i may have to sqeeze in a cardio after my little 'Why do i have to go to bed hungry tantrum last night' that started as a turkey sandwich but ended in a three course mealx( :+ and it was LATE toox(;(. This eating thing sure is hard:-(

Hey guys! As usual, I have to be quick. I'm headed to the bus shortly, then off to clean my friend's house.

Workout this morning: PUB followed by cardio premix of LIS! Got all the footwork down EXCEPT for the step-sweep, pivot, etc on the 3rd combo. My feet just won't cooperate there! LOL I haven't done PUB in a month, what with BFL and P90X workouts. WOW! DOMS will be coming soon! My abs are quite sore, also, from BC x2!!!

Good Morning Ladies,

Today will be S/H shoulders, bi's and Tri's. I'm sure I'll be fried when I'm done.


I am so glad Ali won the Biggest Loser. She looked amazing! Kelly looked great also but I didn't think she would win. High 5's to Bernie for beating all the "Pride" boys. He looked fantastic as well. I'm so glad he beat Mark.


Sherry - Have fun with 4DS ches and back. I did that one on Monday. Still feeling some DOMS. I have been adding my plate mates to go a little heavier. It sure does make a difference.

Amelia - Sorry about the Braves. My mom is a die hard Braves fan and she is wondering what is going on with them too.

Stephanie - HAve fun with Legs & Glutes

Gayle - IT took me a few tries to get combo 3 down, but once you get it, it is actually pretty basic. Keep on truckin' and your will get it.

Hello and Good Morning to you all,

Well….I have my weight bench. Now I have the task of putting it together today. This should be fun!

Boy do I have DOMS going on this morning in my upper body! That CTX all upper workout had my arms shaking yesterday. I did it ALL this time around! Iused all the weights like Cathe too! (Really happy about that!)

Hi Sherry: Thank you for starting us off today. Good luck with your car issues. Mine is in need of a lot of repair and I just don’t want to pay for it. DH and I are trying to decide whether to get a new one or finish the 3rd floor. Mmmm what should it be???
Have a great workout with 4DS. I agree with Stephanie…if you can do it go heavier.{) I sure am feeling the difference! Have a great day.

Hello Amelia: Late night snacking caught up with you eh? Time to burn baby burn! Between GS legs and a great powerwalk you should be burning at least 500 calories right? How goes the rotation for Fitness Freak?

Ok…Melissa or Kathy: What barbell do you use with the Gold’s Gym weight bench? I have been reading some complaints about the width of the bar holder and that the weights ended up on the inside instead of the outside. Any suggestions? I currently have the Firm barbell and of course this is too small. I really like this one too because it has nice padding on it.

Just had to come and quickly post about Biggest Loser last night! As soon as I heard Ali had to have lost more than 105, I KNEW she had it. HECK...she lost 99 while at the ranch, that would only mean another 6! YAY ALI!!!!!!! And YES....on Bernie beating the Pride Boys! I'm very happy with the way it all turned out!

Today I did a heavy BFL lower body workout and the abs from MIS (thanks for the recommendation Stephanie!) I think I can go a little heavier on an exercise or two next week.

Sherry – Golden Retrievers are such great dogs! We had one when I was growing up named “Golden Boy” (yeah, real inventive) :) and he was THE happiest dog I’ve ever known. His tail never stopped wagging! Of course it was a disaster for anything left on the coffee table or end tables, lol. Let us know how the extra weights on 4DS work! LOL, on Dean K…..he was actually here in NJ during his 50 marathons in 50 days event. If I could’ve run 5 miles at that time I would’ve drove up there to do it with him. They were offering a 5 & 8 mile run or the full marathon with him. I had just started back to running (after knee surgery) and I couldn’t even run 5 miles yet!!!! Boohoo, I was sad…lol.

Amelia – Enjoy GS Legs today and some extra cardio. I think the night time munchies happens to all of us. I really hate going to bed with my stomach growling, too. :(

Stephanie – I did MIS abs this morning and it was endless crunching and half way down crunching! I forgot what a little gem that one is for upper abs!

Gayle – It’s great to change it up sometimes! I always wonder if there’s something wrong with me because I really don’t get sore that often. It’s usually only after a drastic change in my routine. Although I do get stiff sometimes after long runs but it only lasts an afternoon or day. Okay, now you all know I’m definitely weird, lol! Go Ali!!!

Carolyn – Enjoy S&H today! I was so thrilled to see Ali win!

Heidi – I bought a 300 lb. Olympic weight set from Sports Authority that has a 35 lb. barbell. I got it for about $119 and also bought a leather bar pad for $20. This has allowed me to really go heavy on lower body and I think it’s going to work really well with STS. I priced out buying a barbell and weights individually and it was way more expensive than the set. HTH.

Okay, Biggest Loser talk... Didn’t Ali look amazing! She was so TINY! I guessed her weight right on the dot…DH was impressed, lol. I was shocked that Roger was under 200 lbs. though. And wasn’t it SWEEEET to see Bernie win? I was so happy for him!

I can't say enough about Ali on the Biggest Loser! Wow!! I was so glad about how it all worked out. Kelly looked awesome! I was also so excited for Bernie (and his teammate, what was her name? She did so good after leaving the ranch!)

Okay, I had some extra time this morning so I put in 4DS and did the premix of total body weights -- wow, that was awesome!

Back and finished with my workout.

Legs and Glutes! WOW! I felt the burn how about you Stephanie? I did it all and then tacked on a new workout. Gliding Discs. This came with 3 workouts. Ultimate Buns & Legs, Total Body and Fat Burning Cardio. I did the first workout in this series...Ultimate Buns & Legs. The workout was ok but nothing like Cathe. I am looking forward to seeing what Cathe has in store for us using these discs! }(

Hi Kathy! Your barbell alone weighs 35#'s!? Mine is only 10#'s.:) Thank you for for the information on the barbell. I will have to check these out soon. Don't you just love that MIS ab workout? It gets in there good. }(

Hi everyone!

I appreciate all the well-wishes about my job situation! One way or another, it'll work itself out.

Sherry - I like the cyber-RT idea!! Have fun with 4DS Chest and Back.

Amelia - sorry to hear about your tantrum. I've been having those on and off lately. NO FUN! Well, I enjoy eating the things I shouldn't eat. I just don't enjoy how I feel afterwards...x(

Stephanie - I haven't done L&G in a long time. It's amazing that I can totally forgot that I have a workout until someone mentions it. I seem to gravitate towards the same workouts all the time.

Heidi - I'm still using my standard 5ft barbell. To avoid my plates being on the inside instead of the outside, I take a spare set of clips and butt them up against the outside of the bar holder, then slide my plates on and us another set of clips to secure them. It doesn't leave much room for plates, but I use two 25 lb plates on either end that helps alot. Eventually, I'll get a longer bar.

BIGGEST LOSER - Yes, Ali looked AWESOME and man, was she pumped up huh?!?!?! I was so happy that Bernie won that DD and I were jumping around yelling "Bernie, Bernie, Bernie!!". He looks great. They all do. It was a good show. My parents happened to be over and we made them watch it until they left at 9:00. They had never watched it before but it sucked them right in. My Mom called when they got home to find out who won the at-home part, they had just missed it.

GET THIS: do you remember Neil from last season? When he was on the Biggest Loser, he worked for the same company my Mom works for. In the same building! She knows him. WHAT?!?! Why am I just finding out about this now? I wasn't as into BL last season as I was this season, but I remember Neil.

Okay, off to have some lunch. Meeting DH at this awesome sub place that has the best grilled chicken salad...:9 He usually gets there first and I hope he doesn't order any french fries because they just happen to have the best fries. I could call him and tell him not to order any...but I probably won't ;-)

I remember Neil. He is the one that sabatoged his weigh in one week by drinking 4 or 5 gallons of water right before weight in . He gained 17 lbs in one week. I can;t remember exactly why he did that but it sure pissed off Bob and the rest of the team. Then the next week he ended up winning the weigh in because he lost all that water weight plus some. I think he lost 34 pounds that week. After all that, I didn't like him anymore.

Isn't it great to be able to have lunch with your DH once in awhile!?
The grilled chicken salad sounds yummy right now...I am hungry still even after having tuna salad on WHW bread w/ched cheese. I might have to eat my snack early. (Apple w/cottage cheese spinkled with cinnamon.
What are your workout plans for today?

Trying to figure out where and how to organize this basement for a workout area. We now have two weight benches and a treadmill. The TV is across the room divided by a large pool table. The rest of the cellar has pipes and venting ducts left over from contruction crews. Time for a major clean-out! I need help with this so I think it will have to wait until DH comes home. (Can't throw something out he might need.... :eek: )

Kathy-how was that ab section??? I’m always looking for killer ab work! I’m PATIENTLY waiting for Tracey S’s new Core Blast to come…supposed to ship this week!

Michelle-all they said was that he was sick. Not sure of any details…maybe we can find out the scoop on the net?? GREAT JOB on 4DS premix!!!!

Heidi-I have a shorter standard barbell that only weighs 10#. My Olympic bar, on the other hand, is 35. I don’t use that one though, because it’s so long and I just feel like it’s too dangerous to use! LOL For your basement, how about putting both weight benches head-to-head??? Do you know what I mean? Like, with the head areas close to each other???

Melissa-I hope lunch with DH was nice! Your mom KNEW NEIL????? How cool is that? I like the tip on keeping the weights further out with the clips. Not a bad idea. My barbell is also 5’, and I find the plates are too close to my hands when doing LB work. I’ll have to use your idea!

OK…I’m headed outside. My best friend’s DH (they live right across the street from me) was laid off on Monday, unexpectedly, and he’s getting cabin fever ALREADY! They still take both their kids (5 YO and 18 months) to day care, so he’s home alone all day. I called him and told him to lace up his sneakers, that we were going outside for a walk! I’ve got about 40 minutes before the bus comes, and I thought it’d be nice to get him OUT!

Carolyn - I remember the water thing too. I didn't care for him very much either. Now, if my mom worked with Bernie, I'd be SUPER EXCITED!!! He's so cute...

Heidi - it is a nice treat to meet DH for lunch. He surprises me every once in a while when he's in the area.

Gayle - have a great walk! It is beautiful here today. I didn't want to come back to work... :-(

Stephanie: Thank you for that YouTube info. That would be nice to see. I got a little side tracked watching the other footage as well. I was watching the 2006 Marathon when Robert Cheruiyot fell when he hit the finish line...no pun intended!
How did you do with your workout?

Hi Gayle: Enjoy your walk! Can't wait until DD comes home. We might hit the trails. Thank you for the idea on the weight benches going head to head.:) This might just work.
