BFL Tuesday 4/15

Good morning!

Surprised me that I didn't see another post yet. We all counted so much on Belinda to get us started, but we're very glad she's stateside for now.

Yesterday I took a very much needed rest day. And I finally figured out that it's the dog causing my right shoulder to have some aches. When she thinks she's going for a car ride, she gets all excited and pulls very hard on the leash, all 60#'s of exuberant puppy. So I'll start draping the leash behind me so my bodyweight can help stabilize.

This is my last week of cardio restriction, so I think I'll be doing 4DS, weights only, the next 4 days, with MuscleMax scheduled for Sunday (previewed it but haven't done it yet). On the schedule for today is 4DS Chest/Back.

Good Morning girls!

Today is a 75min powerwalk on the TM. I love my powerwalks!! Can't wait for the spring to get here(should already be herex() so i can walk at a local park in the morning..

Man i wish i could afford to go on the RT,i would just love to meet everybody i talk to on this forum. What a great bunch of ladies! My family thinks im kinda loopy for having 'cyber friends'LOL:+ its a good thing that i don't care about what they think;-)

Im thinking about taking my Ticker off my signature as im not really into weighing anymore...but it is nice to kinda 'show' how much weight ive lost:eek:;-)

Sherry-What kind of puppy do you have that is 60#?LOL;-) You ever watch the dog whisperer show? I watched an episode this weekend and its pretty neat how they figure out whats wrong with these dogs that have emotional,behavioral issues. I didn't know that when walking a dog,to make sure the dog is either beside you or behind you because if its infront you the dog thinks its the dominit one,LOL!

Good Morning Ladies,

Boy, it sure is strange not having Belinda wake us up each morning. I hope she was able to see the road trip announcement.

Today I will do another cardio workout, probably Low Max with the med ball. My DH was not too pleased at me excitement over the road trip announement. He said we just got back from one vacation and here I am already planning another one. I'll have to work on him a bit.

Sherry - Take it easy on the dog walks. I hava a friend who's dog yanked her so hard she fell and broke her shoulder trying to walk her dog.

Amelia - Enjoy your power walk! The road trip can be expensive. With the airfare, hotel and trip cost last year it cost me about $600.00.
I really can't afford it either, but it is the one thing I do for me.

I need to get DD out of bed and at school on time today. They have CRCT testing all week.

I did GS BSB and MIS Abs. I haven't picked that one up in awhile! I challenge anyone here who has it to do the ab workout on MIS. It's standard crunches with a few other moves done with a step with 2 risers. It is NON-STOP 10 minutes. DOMS for sure!

I won't be able to go on the Road Trip either. x( Too bad she can't have it in NC! :7

The last few day's I have been cleaning out my house like grazy! I have lots of work to do to get the house ready!

Morning everyone!
This morning I did a little indoor duathlon. I ran 1.5 miles/biked 30 minutes/ran 2 miles. I also tacked on an Ab Hits segment (PS Legs).

I'm still debating with myself if I want to give the July RT a shot. I live close enough that I don't need the hotel but the price of gas and the RT registration fee are something I'd have to budget for... Plus, I still feel guilty in that because I live close, I've already attended 3. :eek:

Gayle** my son wants to move in with a friend ( Alesia’s BF brother!)! The only problem I have, his friend doesn’t do anything around the house! His house is a pig stall! I am not paying someone rent and the house is a total mess! I don’t know what we are doing! I am getting the house ready when my DH returns in May! I may stay and keep my house so my son has a palace to stay! My son doesn’t want to stay in our house alone either! I earnestly have to say after seeing my house I won’t let him stay alone in the house!

Carolyn** welcome back! I had no idea you are on vacation! Where did you go?

Melissa** I slept a lot better last night! I am still getting so tired around 5 pm!

Kathy** congrats on your weight loss! WTG! The select number beds makes a huge difference! I love it! I have no back pain since 8 month! We bought the 7000! Love it! Thanks for posting the recipe! YUM! Great workouts this morning!

Good morning, ladies!

I, for one, AM CERTAINLY going to try to get a spot on one of the RTs...no doubt. Like Carolyn said, it's the one thing that I do for ME. I live close enough that I don't have to fly. The last 2 times I've doine the RTs, I've driven to the Philly airport and picked up a few RTers....Dreamyjeanie (Jean), BelovedHeather (Heather), and others. We'll see how it plays out this year, but you can BET I'm trying to get in again (and no guilt, Kathy :) )

First off, this morning's workout was AWESOME!!! DOMS in my lower body from yesterday, and they eased up as I began my workout. I did iTread 15(60min) for the first time! I logged just over 6 miles and felt AWESOME! This one has a warm up, then 4 challenges that Grace calls intervals. "Challenge" is a better name, I think. You hit 2 hills during this workout...10% and 5%. The last challenge is a 3 minute interval of fast running (I kept it at 8.3mph). It was AWESOME! Then I tacked on my favorite ABS.....original BC core work 2 times.

OK....had meal 1 (egg whites and lite toast), and put the EFL pot roast in the crockpot. My fridge is stocked with salsa chicken wraps, steamed brussel sprouts, and fresh cabbage and cauliflower that I will cook later today. After work/school, I'm coming home for my additional cardio session (planning on doing LIS cardio again to hammer the footwork).

HOW ARE YOU LADIES??? I feel like I haven't 'chatted' with you guys in a while.

Belinda-the T-12 ladies are talking about getting in on the same RT and coming into town a FEW days early (instead of just the ONE day ahead of time).

ANYWAY.....off to start my day (rather, continue my day).

OH....BIGGEST LOSER TONIGHT! As much as I want Ali to win, I think it's either going to be Roger or Kelly. They have the most weight to lose! ALso, I read in a magazine (it was the Spring 2008 Clean Eating mag that I Just got this weekend) where they interviewed 2 past BL competitors. One was Kai...remember her? She said what they did each and every week to lose such HUGE numbers was unbelievable. She said for the Finale, she actually DEHYDRATED herself so she'd be as low and as thin as possible. Anyway...don't miss the finale tonight!

Hi, Belinda...I'm not sure yet what the consensus is. Honestly, I'm afraid a lot of people are going to go with the thought that they will TRY for July because then if they don't get in, then they'll always have August to try for. Either one works for me, so it doesn't matter to me. I wish there were a way to see how many people are going to try for July and how many for August. Cheryl said she'd keep you updated on your other check-in with her. None of us have your email straightened out yet either! :) We all keep getting your email shot back to us! Wanna try again? You can PM me your email address and I'll add you in!

Sherry – Wow, I can just imagine what 60 lbs. of excited puppy can do to your shoulder! Oh my, my dog is only 20 lbs. and he can almost drag me wherever he wants, lol! I think you’ll enjoy Muscle Max.

Amelia – I’m like you, I enjoy my cyber workout pals! I have a runner friend here at work but don’t get a chance to talk to him that much. I wish you could make it to the RT too!

Carolyn – Which RT are you planning on? I can only do the July trip. If we manage to make it on the same RT, would you be interested in sharing a hotel room? I think I may just stay over this year because the driving back and forth got a little monotonous! It would be nice to just relax and enjoy it.

Heidi – We missed you yesterday! Enjoy your cardio and upper body workout.

Stephanie – Your on for the MIS abs challenge for tomorrow! ;) I’m also sorry you can’t make it up here for the RT too.

Belinda – Ooooo, now I want a select number bed, lol! I hope everything works out with your house. What a tough decision to make!

Gayle – Yeah, I don’t know why I have these *guilt* issues! I know it’s a first come first serve type of situation so if I’m “lucky” enough to get a spot, I WILL enjoy it, lol! I can only do the July RT because I want to run a 50k the weekend of the August RT. Last year it was on the same weekend and I opted to do the 25k instead so I could do both. So basically I did Cathe’s step class and the meet & greet on Friday, the classes and dinner on Saturday, and then got up and ran the 25k (about 15 miles) on Sunday. LOL, now THAT was a fun weekend. I really don’t think I can do the same with the 50k….they may have to resuscitate me after…..LOL! I’ve promised myself I’d do this 50k since 2006 and between injury and the RT, I haven’t done it and that’s going to change this year. ;)

Who wants to take bets on who wins Biggest Loser? My heart wants Ali to win but I think it’s going to be one of the boys.

Quick check-in for me today. I'm swamped at work -- however, looks like it will be slow later in the week - so I'm sure I'll be back to chatting soon!! :)

I won't be at the RT either -- but that's okay. It was so motivating just hearing all of your stories when you returned last year -- so seriously, I'm excited about it - even though I'm not going!

And Kathy -- DON'T feel guilty! Oh my gosh!!

Quick question for Sherry - you are doing a cardio restriction? How is that working? Only because I was soooo hungry with the lifting -- do you find that you are hungry all the time? Just curious.

I can't wait for Biggest Loser!! I am a little sad about your report Gayle. But I guess we all knew they had to be doing something a little out of the ordinary to get such big numbers every week. I'm still cheering for Alli!!

One last thing -- Amelia - I vote you keep your ticker! You really should be proud!!

Good morning all! Wow, not sure I can keep up with personals today, you guys have been BUSY!!!

Amelia - keep your ticker, girl! That's quite an accomplishment!

Lots of RT talk today! It's exciting. I added it all up yesterday and it will be about $800 (includes an extra hotel night for Thursday but does not include spending money for "Cathe stuff"). And since I may be losing my job here pretty soon, not sure I can justify it right now, even though DH said I should go...I LOVE HIM!!! Got a couple of weeks to think about it, so that's what I'll do.

My right knee is really bothering me today. I have Osgood-Schlatter disease (say that 5x fast!! lol) and I really need to pay attention to my form on squats and lunges. I don't think I did a good job on my form last night..x( May have to skip HIIT tonight and push it off until tomorrow. Better safe than sorry, right?!

Melissa - did I miss something? I didn't know you may be losing your job?! :( I'm sorry.
Also, how do handle you Osgood-Schlatter disease. My son's knee has been killing him, and after a week of hobbling around I took him to an orthopedic doctor. He mentioned he may have this. I have no idea what it is. My son is 10. The doctor gave him some anti-inflammatories because the tendon under his knee cap was swollen. How do I know if he has this? Any advice??

Michelle - no, you didn't miss anything. I don't think I've said anything about it until now. The company I work for is in the process of being sold. I won't know my fate until the end of May.

Poor DS! I feel his pain, unfortunately. Osgood-Schlatter usually goes away after the growth period is over. Mine actually flared up when I was in my 20's and it is still an issue. I probably developed it when I was younger, but didn't realize it. Google Osgood-Schlatter and you should find some good info. The usual RICE applies for treatment. My doc keeps bringing up cortizone shots, which I don't want to do. And she recommended significantly reducing my activity for about 6 months, which I also don't want to do. I do have a very unattractive bump under my knee cap from it. SEXY!!!! DH tells me that I have the most unattractive knees he's ever seen. I guess it could be worse. Who pays attention to knees anyway?!?!:p
 
I finished Low Max. I used the med ball for only a few of the blasts. I cheated myself but atleast I finished the whole thing.

How do they determine the winner on the Biggest Loser? It can't be based on who lost the most weight because then Roger would definitely win. It must be who lost the most percentage of weight? I voted for Roger to be the 3rd finalist. Get ready for Mark's tears tonight.

Kathy - I would love to room together if I get in. My DH is so up in the air about me going though. I have until next Friday to work on him. I also have a friend who says she wants to go this year, but I think by the time registration comes around she will bail out. She wants me to sign her up. Last year I did that and I made it and she didn't. I told her to be at her computer at noon if she really wants to go.

Melissa - Sorry about your job situation. School ends in 5 weeks so I will be out of a job until next school year in August. Another reason DH isn't thrilled with the RT.
