Good morning ladies! Happy Friday. What are your plans for this weekend?????

The rain is finally supposed to stop here today, and the weekend is forecasted to be in the 60s. I'll take it. Tomorrow afternoon we have my older son's 10th BDay party for his friends. We're going miniature golfing. Then Sunday is my younger son's football game. Besides that, it'll be a quiet weekend!

This morning, I was up early, and DOMS are still in the upper body! Those killer push ups! I'll tell you! lol I hit the basement by 5:20 and off I went with heavy lower body! I still can't believe some of these weights. I actually have to go and buy more plates and a set of 35lb & 40 lb dumbbells! lol

Hi Gayle,

Wow! That is great on being able to use more weight! Which lower body did you do today?

I am or should I say have scheduled the PLB for today but I did this last week. I did the S&H Legs on Mon. Should I go for the Gym Styles this time around? How does this compare with the other two?

Feeling that trail run in my shins a little today but not bad. I am now a bit sore in the tri's from Weds double header.(S&H and BBC) I always take a day a two between workouts before it really sinks in. Not sure why this is...oh well at least it did something.;-)

For today I did my PLB workout, Yahoo!!!

I have met my first goal..I did every single workout this week. It may not seem like much but it has been several months since I hit every single workout!

I have been sleeping better,...don't know why??? Which makes getting up soooo much easier!

Eating was good yesterday until dinner. It was totally my own fault,

I ended up getting home much later than planned due to rush hour traffic, so I was starving in the car and when I went to get my afternoon snack out of my lunch bag I found that x( x( :( I had left it at the office:(

So I ate too many potatos at dinner BUT!!!! The rest of the meal was clean.

And I am really excited about this one:

ANother small goal when I got home I did my have glass of wine while cooking dinner...just can't give it up}( however, I usually eat potato chips while I drink my wine and cook dinner. Isn't that weird?? Don't ask me why I think wine and potato chips go together:7

I didn't eat one chip:7

So here's my eating plan for the day:

Breakfast
Coffee
Mushroom Omelet and Toast
3 egg whites and 1 whole egg, beaten together
1 slice whole wheat bread, toasted
1/2 cup fresh sliced mushrooms
Snack

Strawberry Protein Smoothie
1 cup unsweetened frozen strawberries
1 scoop Beachbody's Whey Protein Powder
1 cup nonfat milk
Mix ingredients in blender.


Lunch
Turkey, Spinach, and Broccoli Salad
3 oz. turkey
1 cup shredded romaine lettuce
1 cup fresh spinach
1/4 cup broccoli, chopped
1/2 oz. vinegar
1 Tbsp. olive oil

Snack
1 apple, sliced
1 oz. slice, low-fat cheddar or Colby cheese

Dinner
Chicken, Sweet Potato, Peas, and Carrots
4 oz. chicken breast, baked or broiled
1 small sweet potato, steamed or baked
1 cup frozen peas and carrots, cooked

Now I will be in Chicago tonight for my meeting. We will be having a working dinner, and I have no idea what they will serve but I will just practice portion control.

This is a 1400 calorie menu ...that leaves 200 calories for WINE!!!

I hope you get a better sleep tonight. That is really miserable.

Teddygirl!!!I have the same problem of getting too hungry. I usually carry a snack with me. Go Lean protein bars are pretty good. Maybe you could keep one in your purse.

Jennifer - it is another dreary day in PA but I am ready for it!!! Weird I know but I love it when the weather starts to cool.

Hi Kerry: Thanks for the info on the Step & Intervals being the one on CTX. I will try this one Sat. The Eat Clean Diet is by Tosca Reno.
Great book! Just purchased the cookbook and am waiting for it to come in along with the Eating for Life Cookbook.
Yeah, laundry sucks big time when the dryer is malfunctioning! We have replaced the console twice and this doesn't seem to be the problem.

Its’ Friday finally :) is it 4:30 yet can you tell I don’t feel like working today;(

No PM workout last night, went to BJ’s as plan, I love BJ's and Sams Club. We over spent but hey food was needed.

Up bright and early this morning cooked, cleaned and worked out;)

I did Slow Heavy tri’s & bi’s and MIS tri my upper body is cooked. Tonight, NO plans so going to finish workout, need to do MIS biceps and S&H abs, that’s it for me. I ran out of time hm...cleaning and cooking took up 30 minutes of me time ARGH.....it was needed.

I tell you the Slow & Heavy Series is one of Cathe’s best workouts, feeling it real good.

Forgot to mention eatery was good yesterday:9 I stayed very focused Yahooie:+ :+

Tomorrow, is leg day, going to start off with an hour jog then onto B&G or GS legs, can't go wrong either way, right

Started with 2 Tbsp of liquid protein
M1: 3 tiny pancakes w/3 egg whites ½ c ff skim milk
M2: 2 tbsp of flax & ff yogurt
M3: 1 salmon skew & broccoli
M4: grilled turkey burger w/wheat bun
M5: Hm…….not sure yet chicken probably

Good morning everyone! Ugh, no workout for me today...at least no PLB. I got the absolute worst night's sleep last night (restless legs) and that topped off quite a few previous days of poor sleep so I just don't have it in me to lift today or do much of anything. I have to skip class today because I commute 35min one way to class and I am not about to risk falling asleep on the drive, especially when I go out there for just one class. I think I'm going to go back to the doctor today...I hate taking medication for this but I can't keep going on like this!

Tomorrow I'm doing a 5 mile hike up in Rocky Mountain National Park, so I'm excited about this!

Heidi-I did the BFL lower body exercises this morning. Starting next week, I'll switch it up. As for you....I vote GS Legs. I love all 3 of the ones you mentioned, but I'm voting GS to keep your legs guessing! lol

Kerry-WTG on hitting that goal of exercise everyday! AWESOME! Baby steps....one at a time! Your menu looks good!

Teddy-WTG on those tris. Those poor pups are gonna ACHE! LOL I also love Sam's.....and like you, I don't mind spending money on food since it's something that gets consumed (usually, anyway). lol

Veronika-YES! I LOVE getting my workout done for the day! It really keeps me focussed on my eating the rest of the day!

OK!!! VICTORY for me! I stepped on the scale and it shows me down a REMARKABLE 10 pounds since I started this BFL deal! lol Seriously! I stepped on and off this morning, several times, just to make sure that it was reading accurately! 10 lbs! Now, granted, this week was TOM, so when I weighed in 2 weeks ago, I was probably starting to retain water, but at least that's gone and now that it's gone, I can focus and take pride in that 10 lbs!!!!! WOO HOO! Thanks for letting me celebrate!

Gayle are you sh&**^%% me:) 10lbs You go! How the heck did you do that? I must have found the 10 you lost, I swearx( I'm sitting here now pants are so tight on my thighs it's rediclous. This morning my dude said buy bigger clothes I started to smash him. I told him I'm sticking with size 6's don't won't to go below that, I been there and I looked a mess. Nice Job .:) :D

Back again after the GS leg workout for today.

Gayle: You are right! Wow, it is a good idea to mix it up and keep you muscles guessing. This really got me good. I don't know if it has anything to do with the very hilly trail run yesterday or not. But this is well worth trying out if anyone hasn't yet.

Jeesh! 10 lbs. lighter? I may have lost 1.5 at the most in the past 2 weeks. But this fluctuates depending on my cardio out put. Today I started at 140 and ended the workout at 139.5. Again, I don't think most of us will see any real loss until week 8.
This is awesome and you have put in a lot of hard work!

teddygirl: As for your jeans fitting a little tighter...this could be due to the weight lifting. My muscles get a little swollen for a day or two after a big workout. Your schedule so far looks like you are hitting the weights about twice a day. Double the duty. Your eating habits are good so I would just wait a little bit. Things will even out and the weight should come off great. You'll have a very nice toned body in the end. As will we all!:7

Lack of sleep is a hard thing to deal with. I hope things go better for you tonight Jill. Your hike tomorrow after a day off will feel great. It is ok to take the time if you need it for otherwise you will burnout and give up.

Hey guys! Thanks! I do have to make sure you understand what I said, though, too! LOL This week TOM hit, so I THINK that the day we started (Oct 1st) I was beginning to retain. Although, I surely will NOT argue with a loss like this! LOL But I saw it in the mirror this morning, before I even got dressed to workout! I felt it too. THEN the # showed up and I was ecstatic!!! I'm not sure that my 2 week progress pic will show it when I take it Monday morning, but the scale sure likes what's happening! lol

OH...p.s. I'm in the market for a 1950's prom gown and/or tuxedo and/or outfit of some type. I'm going to an adult Halloween Costume Party and the theme this year is your 1950 Senior Prom! Any ideas???
 
Gayle- that is so excellent!And we heard you when you said TOM was coming, but who cares-10 pounds is HUGE!!! I don't want to get on the scale yet.Yesterday I put my size 10 pants on and my hubby said that they looked big and saggy on me.So that is exciting for me. I think because I've been doing something everyday now it is working for me.Thanks for the accountability y'all. It has been helping a lot.

Kerry- I'm there with you! It is so good to have met the daily goal and then look back to see that we have done it for a whole week. Doesn't it feel good?

Jill- I know another person who has that, and the days he doesn't get his sleep he looks so worn out. So, I wish you would go to the doctor to get the medication if it will help you.The rest today will do you good and tomorrow's hike will be awesome.

By the way people,I did my lower body today and it felt great.The only thing is evertime I do lower body the back of my neck really bothers me from holding the bar there.I even roll a towel up around the bar for some cushion. It doesn't help. I am using THE FIRM barbell that I ve had for 20 years. It weighs 10 pounds and is short- lengthwise.It is padded. Any ideas?

Gayle,I have no idea where you would go to get a prom dress.I sold mine last year in the garage sale. We are having another garage sale tomorrow. This is what we do to raise money for my son's therapy.

Kerry: that's great about getting in every workout! That is a goal of mine right now as it has not been done in months.

Gayle: congratulations on the weight loss! This morning I noticed a little bit of ab definition that I did not have previously, so I was happy!

Veronika: I thought about it more and I don't think that I have restless leg syndrome as I do not have the feeling in my legs that medical sites have described and I haven't really had this problem before. It was weird, though, because it just felt like I had a ton of potential energy in my legs and that just going for a run or doing a lower body workout would have helped me feel better. Unfortunately, the rest of me was tired and wanted to sleep! ;-)

I didn't end up going to the doctor. I am going to do a short yoga video this evening, have a cup of tea, and relax before bed. Lately I've been busy doing things right up until bedtime. I picked up some Get Some ZZZZ's tea (republic of tea) today. It has valerian root in it which is helpful. The grocery stores around here don't carry sleepytime plus. I did skip chemistry today because I figured that if I didn't fall asleep on the way out there I would most definitely fall asleep in class (and I sit in front!). I'm tired but was unable to go back to sleep.

Heidi, thanks for the encouragement. You're right, the hike tomorrow will make me feel so good! It really restores my spirit being up there and being out in the fresh air will do me some good as well. I don't know if I told you all this (sometimes I can be a bit forgetful) but where I'm going is on the back of the Colorado quarter. I'll bring my camera with me tomorrow and take a picture to share.

Oh I wished you lived out by me! We have an outrageous store here called Bananas and they probably have what you are looing for.

Veronika: I have that same barbell. It could be the angle you are holding your hear when using this. I would try to use DB's instead.

Yeah for all of us that have stuck it out for almost 2weeks!

Jill: Enjoy your walk Sat. :) I love getting out and hiking or running in the wilderness it is just so refreshing.

Thanks for the suggestion Heidi. I'm going to do that on leg day of next week and see how it works. Does two 20 dumbbells work the same as a 40 pound barbell? I know it is the same weight, I'm just wondering.

Heidi, I'd like to see those pictures. I so enjoy Colorado.

Oh yes! you will feel the difference. It makes you work on your balancing muscles too. :)

I use dumbbells for the most part myself because it just makes it easier for the transitions.
