Yeah Stephanie! Awesome time! Knew you could do it!
It’s now 5:30, and I’ve tried to go for a powerwalk with the dog several times today, only to be turned back due to the driving rain. I keep trying to go when radar shows it’s letting up, but it ain’t workin’. I so wanted to be outside today instead of in front of the TV for my cardio!
Instead we’re leaving to go shopping soon. Seems DS’s feet have grown some more and he needs new soccer cleats for the spring season. I’ll be buying my 11 years size 9’s! He’s barely an inch shorter than me, and I’m 5’4”.
Susan – I have found that those questions needed only simple answers at the younger ages. Sex Ed starts in 4th grade in our district, with 4th grade about the one gender that the kids are, then in 5th a little more in depth about reproduction and what’s going on in the other gender. DS turned green both times (he can’t stand that biology stuff which drives DH crazy since that’s what he teaches). DD loves the American Girl book about taking care of her body, I like the straightforward but simple approach it takes.
Amelia – Yeah! Jeans falling off! Yes, you can do clean eating! And you should be very proud of your DD’s accomplishment. Rightly so.
Gayle – Glad you are pumped back up and out of your funk, though I might have been ready to join you. I think it’s the combination of not getting in cardio (still the toe, but I think I’ll be running again in another week) and all of the life stuff – car having problems last night, getting the cat’s blood results, DH bummed about not taking the job near the families (especially after my company had to do some layoffs a week ago), among other things. So instead, I think I’ll find a way to torment my lower body (that’s on tap for tomorrow) while we’re at the sporting good store getting DS his cleats.
Michelle – Yes, me DS gets embarrassed, too. He only discusses those things with Dad.
Melissa – I’m sure ankle weights would work, too. I have those also, but it took you ladies to remind me that I could use them other ways. I’m sure DD’s haircut will look cute. My DD is letting her hair grow so that she can get it cut to donate it.
Kathy – Glad you enjoyed your sleep. Hope you make it too the pool.
Belinda – Glad you made it in safely, and the dogs, too. Take a few days to adjust to the time change.
Heidi – The cupcake’s disappearing – that happened to me the other day with the brownies. At least they’re not on my hips, which is directly where they would have gone had I partaken. Yard work – haven’t started it yet, though DH and I were discussing removing a retaining wall. Since there’s a change for snow tonight, I know we have plenty of time to talk about it. I want to work on my gardens, too. This house just doesn’t have the nice ones like the last 2 homes have. The last one, we inherited a yard that bloomed to life in spring with hundreds (yes hundreds) of tulips and daffodils. Imagine our surprise the first spring that we were there.
Looks like the troops are ready to go. Enjoy your evening! “See” you all tomorrow!
