HPLECTRA

Cathlete
Good Morning to All BFL Challengers,

I have been up since 5am and wondering when my DD is going to take the train. I could have used some more sleep because I just feel so exhausted. I am sure going to bed after 11pm didn't help!

Today is upper body and I am debating whether to do PUB again or SH. My biceps are still a little sore from Monday. Also, my legs are really sore today. Have to walk down the stairs very carefully...it hurts! But it hurts so good ;-) because I know I got in a really good work out on Weds.

Yesterday I ended up doing Low Impact Step. My legs were just not up to the running bit. This was a little hard at first but once I was warmed up it went well. Sweated like crazy because it is kind of humid here.

Well on to the days adventures. I hope eveyone has a great workout and day!

Take Care,

Good morning, Heidi! I'm walking very gingerly today also! LOL Wednesday's leg workout killed us both, hugh??? Enjoy your UB workout!

First, MY ROOM IS DONE! LOL I finished that last coat and took all the tape down. Today I'm going to put the curtains back up and start planning out the furniture. I have stuff in there, but I also have extra stuff in my basement that I am considering using instead, just for a change. I have This End Up furniture pretty much throughout the 2 living rooms and some extras thru the house, which was awesome and durable for the kids, but they're not all the comfortable, so I think comfort is going to win out on this one! lol

I'm done with my UB workout. I used the BFL exercises again instead of a video. I'm really cranking out some high numbers and getting VERy close to zeroing in on hitting 10s for each body part. My arms are shaking and shivering right NOW! lol

What are your plans for this weekend, ladies???
For me, I have a 5K race tomorrow. I'm debating how to approach this. Should I get up and do my normal HIIT then do the 5K casually? Or use the 5K and make it HIIT simply by running different intervals on my own??? What are your thoughts?

Other than the 5K, I have our Fall Baseball picnic Saturday afternoon, and Sunday is my younger DS' football game in the AM. That's it! I'm looking forward to another nice relaxing weekend.

Our first FREE DAY is coming up, right ladies? Here's my plan. In my BFL notebook journal (that i put together yesterday), I have an Eating-For-Life sheet specifically for Sunday. I plan on journalling EVERY THING that goes into my mouth that day. I'm NOT going to take a free DAY, just a free meal or 2. I'm WILL NOT BINGE and will not eat like a pig either. I PROMISE YOU ALL THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm hoping that by journalling, it will keep my splurge meal(s) reasonable.

OK...time to shower. BBL

Hi Gayle,

That's great you finished your painting. I am sure once you get your furniture in you can sit back and admire a job well done!

Plans for the weekend...

Yard work and close the pool.

Put insulation above DD room that the carpenters missed! That means ripping down half the ceiling...makes me angry that these guys missed that.x( Luckily my DD is going away this weekend so we can get this done without interferring with her studies or sleep.

Still working on getting the house in order. Have windows and screens to deal with before it gets too cold. I love having my windows open for as long as possible. No heat on yet and the way it is going I won't until next month.

I have to get my son off soon. I will check in again later.

Oh, Gayle...Do the 5K as a race! Kick it up the last 1/2 mile.

Take Care,

G'Morning Ladies ~ :)

Well W1 is almost over. Didn't do as well as I hoped to do w/ my eating, but not bad. Today, is unplanned since it was a hectic night!!

My UB is still sore from Monday's Pyramid WO, only my bi's right now...Is this possible... :)
Have some major DOMS in my quads from BBC legs on Wednesday....them handicap rails come in handy when using the bathroom.... LOL :)

Gayle ~ Great job finishing up W1 ..
I'm sure your living room looks great. You will have to post a pic once it's all completed.

Last night I went to my orientation at Kohl's...Maybe I am setting my standards to high, but they are only paying $7.50/hr for p/t work. They have me scheduled for 28 hrs this/next week alone. I am really starting to rethink my entire decision. Is it worth it? What do you guys think?
From what they showed, it's not easy work...dragging racks around, rolling them over your feet, etc...LOL... By the time I got home @ 10p.m. last night, I had cleaning up to do here and there (kids and BF did the majority)...I didn't get to sleep until after 12:30 a.m.
I am just thinking it's going to be tough. I work full-time from 8-5pm, then scheduled for p/t at 5:30-10pm... Plus weekends all day -or- night... I guess my question is, what would you do?
My BF said, NO WAY...its too much...!

Thanks for listening once again :)

BBL-
Jenn

Hello Ladies,

I have a question and need some help.Yesterday I was so sore from doing legs on Weds. and waited until the afternoon to workout because I thought I would feel better and that I would fit it in somehow. Then guess what happened-I did not do abs or cardio. My question is: Do I do cardio and abs and PUB today or do I just do PUB?Whenever a person misses a workout that day do you play catch up or just do the workout for that day?

I am still very sore today and it feels good but I may have over done it.

Gayle, I am so glad that you got the room finished so quickly. You are fast! The color looks so warm and inviting.

I'm off to the chiropractor and then will do my workout according to what y'all suggest.

Make it a great day!

Veronika

Jenn-PERSONALLY, it sounds like it's too much for too little. Minimum wage is somewhere around $7.00. Your whole day will be used up...and your weekends, right? Is there room or time for relaxing, family, things you enjoy? NOW...you have to weigh all that against WHY you need the extra money. Is the sacrifice worth it? What can you cut back on to SAVE money, instead of going out to MAKE money? Again, PERSONALLY, I live on a VERY VERY TIGHT budget. The only income we've had for 3 years now is from my late DH's Social Security. FIXED limited income with 2 young boys and a new home (we builty in 2001). I've had to cut corners EVERYWHERE in order to make the little bit of money we got STRETCH! (we didn't have life insurance, shame on us) SO...............my questions goes back to the REASON for the extra money versus the SACRIFICE! (hope that didn't sound too preachy)

Veronika-hmmmmmmmm..........it would depend on how I felt. If I had the time EARLY enough in the day, I'd do all of it to make up. BUT...keep in mind that you'll be doing cardio again tomorrow, right? Don't do the make-up cardio too late or it will 'interfere' (for lack of a better word) with tomorrow's.

OK....sorry to be quick. Snacking on tuna fish in a ww pita before school/work!

HI EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's focus this weekend, ok? Weekends have been my downfall for MONTHS now, but I am focussed and prepared, and READY TO TAKE IT ON!

Getting close to closing out Week 1! YOU ALL ROCK!

Gayle

Hi Jennifer,

It sounds like your going to have your plate full! My daughter does this but she doesn't have kids yet. She'll find out.
I would re-think this if you can. I realize that it is harder than ever these days to make things meet. Maybe you could get everyother weekend off from Kohl's or cut back the hours a little. OR...Try it out and see how you feel in a couple of weeks. It is a tough choice.

Yes, you can have just soreness in your biceps! I did! You might want to do the PUB but skip the biceps or use really light weights just to give them a stretch out.

To Jennifer and Veronika: I just finished S&H Chest and Back. The planks really helped stretch my legs for they were really tight this morning. Maybe doing some of thous would help your legs too. If all is well later go for a good fasted paced walk for your cardio. Tomorrow you could bike or run to get in a really good workout.

Take Care,

Hi Anointed,

I think we all could use a warm bubble bath to soak our muscles!;-)

Next time you go for a hike do them ABS first so you will be sure to get them in there.:7

Have a great day,

Good Morning, everyone! Happy Friday! I'm so glad it's finally here.

Had a great upper body workout last night. I was amazed at how much heavier I could go with the weights after doing S&H for a few weeks. It made a huge difference. Tonight is cardio and I'm looking forward to that.

Gayle, I'm facing the same question regarding the 5k for next Saturday, and what I decided is that I'll use that as my interval workout. Kill two birds with one stone. Who has the time for extra anything these days?

Jenn, I have to say I don't know if it's worth it. $7.50 an hour? You're going to be pulling your hair out at the end of the week for that? Gayle is right. You definitely need to weigh the inconvenience against the need. Maybe there's something better out there for you. The last part-time job I had was working for a furniture store. I worked in the merchandising department, but I knew many of the salespeople, and they could make some pretty decent money on a good weekend. There's almost always evening and weekend hours available in a place like that, and it's an industry that would do well to have more women working in it. My boss tried hard to convince me to do it because he was sure I had the personality for it, and swore I'd make great money. He was willing to give me part-time hours, but I just always wanted to work in the legal field and the opportunity to do so came up before I ever tried getting into sales. I know some people aren't made for sales; I'm just throwing an idea out there based on my experience. For me, that was the most fun I've ever had at a job. The people were great, and it was so nice to go to work at a place filled with beautiful things. JMHO :+

Veronika, slow and steady wins the race. ;-) Be careful not to overdo it.

Take care everyone, and have a great day!

Jennifer

P.S. Yes, Gayle, focus, focus, focus.

Thanks Ladies for your feedback!

While the job sounds good, I'm still not sure what to do. I am sitting here at work saying, yes & no, I don't know...LOL
I'm starting to get tired already (only had 5 hrs sleep) and I have to go in tonight 5:30-10, tomorrow, 8-4:30 & Sunday, 1-9...

It's not a lot of money, but it would help get a few bills out of the way, which is why I am going for it. Like you said though, where is "ME" time...
They have me scheduled only Tuesday & Friday of next week. So I guess I have the remainder of the week off.

Hi Jennifer,

I did this sort of thing when my youngest was around 3/4 and lasted about 6 months. I started out full-time and worked my way back to 20-25 hours a week. I had to work weekends which was hard on my husband because he was trying to do the mom thing. Cook, clean, take care of the 4 kids and try to get some work on the house done. Needless to say he told me it was time for me to come home.;-)

Like I said...try it out and see how it goes. It always good to try something new I say.

How did your workout go?

I'm going to make my daughter some salmon w/fresh from our garden zucchini. She needs to eat before heading out of town for the weekend.

Take Care :D

Hi everyone! Today was kind of an off day for me...I got sidetracked with a big lab writeup I was not expecting. And I did eat well, though! I'm thinking that for cardio tomorrow I'm going to do Low Impact Step. And while I'm out shopping with DD I am going to look for an elliptical :)
