BFL for Tue Jan 29th 2008

Hi ladies,
I’m very impressed with all these great workouts and menus! Sorry, I’m kind of swamped at work right now (and feeling a down, not quite sure why) but wanted to give you all a quick heads up.

I just picked up a 25 lb. standard weight plate at Target on sale for $14.99. They’re the nice rubber coated kind and a steal! (The inside is cast iron and the outside “circle” is rubber coated). All the Reebok plates were on sale….2.5 lb., 5 lb., 10 lb., and 25 lb. If you need extra weight plates, this turns out to be 59 cents a pound! I think I have to go back for another 25 lb. plate before the sale ends.

Kathy

P.S. Melissa I use the 1 count on the lift…hold 1 count….lower 2 counts. In the BFL book it says something like say “Body for Life” on the lift…hold 1 count….then lower saying “I am building my body for life.” Sounds corny but I do it and it really helps with the cadence.

Thanks Kathy. I'm going to try that count next time. I've been doing a single count up until the set of 8 reps, then slowing it down to 2.

I also picked up 2 Reebok 25lb weight plates at Target for $14.99 each. They are really nice, aren't they? That's all they had left, too. This was a couple of weeks ago and when I bought them I didn't think I'd really use them for a while, but I used them for squats on Friday so I was pretty pleased with myself.

Hello,

Back finally from a long day at work and taking DS (12yrs old) for his orthodontic appointment. He has his upper teeth now with braces. The lower teeth will be done in a month or so.

Carolyn: The answer to whether antibiotics could cause damage or discoloration to teeth is YES! This is a very common side effect to being on these type of meds for long periods of time. Please talk to the dentist about alternatives and see if they can brighten his smile somehow. I feel bad for your DS because this is a tender/sensitive age to be in.
Great workout with KPC. I find this one really great for the legs. :)

As for my workout today....I did my workout from yesterday that I didn't get a chance to do.

GS Legs done this morning before all the running around today. I am a little discouraged because my weights that I am using is less than what I have been able to do since last month. I guess all this stress with DH and not having the time to stick to my program is getting to me. I just feel soooo weak lately. :-(

I have started to take a magnesium supplement to help with my being tired and for my bad headaches. This is also suppose to be good for my bones and fuel/energy exchange. Will see if it makes a difference.

Great job Susan on your PUB and IMAX 3 workout! Belinda is right...you'll be feeling these combined workouts top to bottom. }(

Belinda: Nice job on that iTread 13! Gayle is right...keep at it you'll get faster don't worry. :)

Gayle: Glad that you are feeling much better. Also another great job on the iTread #19 and abs.

Hello to everyone. I will have to go back and read all the posts.
Have a great workout! BBL Heidi

HEy!
I am already feeling pub! After my tough workout this morning I had so much energy..I got so much done around here. Not much studying though..I just could not sit still!
Tomorrow is cardio..thinking of kickbox.
HOpe to catch up on everyone tomorrow afternoon.

Hey guys. We're doing our nightly Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune chill-out, so I thought I'd sneek in a post.

Tomorrow is my CRAZY day, so I will be posting very sporadically tomorrow. I'm shooting to start my UB workout tomorrow by 5:15am. Then I'd like to tack on Stretch Max. I'll TRY to post before I get the kids on the bus, but then I drive directly to my friend's house to clean, so I may or may not get on tomorrow morning!

Melissa-yes, Bulgarian Squats are one-legged lunges with the back leg up on the high step. I LOVE this exercise!

As for the weight workout. The count is usually, for me anyway, 2-2. I find that with such heavy weight, single count is just too fast and my form suffers. NICE AND SLOW!

Kathy-I need to get me some more weights as well. I need 35 and 40# dumbbells, but that’s going to cost some $$$, so I’m stalling, but I can’t stall much longer!

Gayle

Heidi - Don't get discouraged, I have plenty of days like that.... Some days running is effortless....then I have those days where I feel like I have cement shoes on, lol.

Susan - Great workout!

Gayle - I only have up to 30 lbs. in hex dumbbells but I own two sets of Powerblocks....one that goes from 5-45 lbs. I use them for deadlifts and rows but they're a bit awkward for chest press and flyes. I can only afford to buy one dumbbell at a time now (at 90 cents a pound!) LOL. My only choice to buy locally is Sports Authority or Dick's Sporting Goods, ugh.

I'll try to catch up with everyone elses posts tomorrow. :)

Kathy

Thank you Kathy :)

Going to cheer myself up by putting my Cathe sticker on my calendar. :D

Tomorrow's workout planned:

GS Chest,Shoulders and Back
Core Max 3
iTread set 9 (maybe all but most likely 1/2 of it)

See you all back here tomorrow. Have a great night. Heidi
