Good morning, ladies. I have to try to get this post in quickly. I have to shower, get everybody breakfast, then get us out the door for DS' basketball play off game! WE'RE PUMPED UP!
My workout this morning was AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME! To me, it really REALLY hits home, on the topic of mini goals and putting them all together to reach the ULTIMATE goal. Let me explain. I have 11 miles on today's long run schedule. Knowing I won't have anybody to watch my kids this weekend, my FIRST mini goal was to get up early enough today to run on the TM before the kids get up! DID IT! NExt goal was to do Cardio Coach Press Play Workout (the one that several of us do the last Saturday of the month?) for the first part of my run. DID IT, and logged 7 miles using CCPP! So that left me with 4 miles to do. I was sweaty, feet ached a bit, and a little voice was occassionally telling me to stop. NOT! Next mini goal? to reach mile 8, then 9. I knew at that point I was going to do all 11 with no problem. BUT...that just wasn't good enough, now was it? NOPE...not for me. I did some quick math and realized that if I didn't pick up the pace even just a little bit, the time ont he TM would go past 100 minutes, when the TM automatically stops. No big deal, just an inconvenience to start it back up again just to finish, what, 3/4 of a mile? NOPE! WILL NOT LET THAT HAPPEN, now will I? Quick math in my head, I set my next mini goal to finish all 11 miles BEFORE the clock turns to 100 minutes. BUT...somewhere between mile 8 and 9, I decided to REALLY challenge me and beat 99 minutes! LOL
LONG STORY SHORT.....11 miles, 98:50 time. Then I did plank work for several minutes and a nice long stretch!
Felt great! LOVE THAT CCPP workout (although I AM still an iTread addict!)
Sorry to hit and run.
Kathy is doing 20 today, right? BBL to check in on you all!
