BFL for Monday Oct 8

Cathlete
Wow! It's almost 8:00 am and no one has started a post yet?

I'm back from my trip. Don't remember if I told you all I was leaving!

I got an EXTREMELY late and screwed up start today so all I can say is that I did my leg workout today.

I did PLB Up only. I was five pounds higher than Cathe's bench marks and I kept thinking wow this is a littel too easy HOWEVER! by the time I actually started coming up the basement steps I was thinking, hmmmm, maybe not too easy after all!

So, looking back at my fitness log for the last year or so, I have identified my major problem. I don't actually workout for more than an average of 3-4 days a week. In some months I average 2-3 a week. That is barely enough to keep me at a reasonable functional fitness level and help with weight control.

So, my main goal for this month will simply be to get in every single workout!!!!!

I wanted to say real quick though, that:
Gayle, you are doing so well and are a real inspiration!!!Keep up the good work.

Jen, that Kohl's job sounds to me like too much unless you were able to ask them to not schedule for more than a certain number of hours a week. 28 hours on top of full time???? That's insane.

One thing I do in my position, because I could literally work 60 plus hours a week and every weekend, I made a commitment to not work more than two weekends a month. Sometimes that is really, really hard but I try my best to stick to it. It saves my sanity and my families too!

Off to work I go...Have a super day everybody!

Kerry

Hey Kerry. Where did you go, and was it for work or pleasure??? Good goal that you've set for yourself. It's very interesting, when you look back on your logs, where the trends are (and aren't)! Good for you! Enjoy the leg DOMS you'll be sporting tomorrow! LOL

I'm shaking in the legs as well! lol I slept in a bit since the kids don't have school today. I increased my weights again today and OUCH is what I can say! I maxed out at 80lbs for deadlifts, 90 for squats, and 50 for front lunges! My basement steps had me saying, "Ooooch, ouch, yowzers" afterward too! lol I followed it all up with Stretch Max 1. My flexibility is improving as well! LOVE IT!

How did everybody's Free Day go yesterday? I started out pretty well...cereal and soy milk for breakfast. At football I had a little dish of french fries. Lunch was Panera Bread: asagio cheese bagel with l/f hazelnut cream cheese (my fave combo) and a l/f blueberry muffin. Dinner was chinese food...broccolit with garlic sauce, white rice, shrimp toast and crab rangoons. TOO MUCH FOOD. Odds and ends to nibble on here and there. YUCK-feeling this morning, though! What a difference!

OK....kids are asking for breakfast! BBL

Let's make this a STRONG WEEK #2!!!!!!!!!

Gayle

Good morning! I'm two hours earlier than you so it's still early here :) Yesterday's free day went okay. I had a couple of raspberry filled donuts which I probably haven't had in over a year! I also had a small chili from Wendy's, a small bowl of ice cream, and my clam chowder. Other than that I actually ate pretty well. But what really helped me to get back on track for today was to sit down last night and write out my meal plan for today. Having it written down and planned out ahead of time REALLY helps me out!

This morning I will be doing B&G Leg Blast premix. My elliptical gets delivered this afternoon when I'm home from school (woo hoo!). Oh, and no snow for us :-( But thankfully we are having a really nice weather week, in the mid-70s, this week so hopefully the trail I'll be going to on Saturday will be clear. It's up at about 9000ft.

Good morning!

Welcome back, Kerry! You've decided on a great goal. It's not easy fitting everything you want to do in a day when you've got work, family, and everything else.

Gayle, you are rocking the weight lifting! How are you doing 90 lb. squats? Are you doing them with a barbell? There's no way I could get a barbell that heavy over my head.

Jill, congrats on your new elliptical. Enjoy!

I have today off from work, so I got to sleep in very late. I'll do my workout in a little while to get that out of the way, then the rest of the day will be geared toward rest and relaxation. (And laundry, if I'm being realistic.) It's a cardio day for me.

One thing I've noticed since starting BFL is that I sleep soooo much better now. I'm naturally a terrible sleeper, and this past week I've had no trouble falling asleep and staying asleep. What a great side effect!

Hope everone has a great day!

Jennifer

Jill-I agree 110% with you. I was afraid that a free day would lead to 2, then 3 days of eating like that. But last night, as I was writing out my planned food and workout, I was getting a new sense of urgency for today!!!!

Jennifer-I'm using a barbell. I actually put it on the dip handles of my power tower so I can add the weight, get under it, then lift it up simply by standing up straight.

p.s. GREAT JOB, ladies!!!!!!!!

G'Morning Ladies ~ :)

Eating was horrible over the weekend :( No workouts in either. My knee was acting up, so I relaxed, I should of got my arse to the gym though.

Tonight is Arms/Abs - Barry's Boot Camp. I am going to try and contine to take my Naproxen (2xday), and maybe this will help w/ flare-ups. I thought about purchasing the supplement, Orth- something...But decided to take my perscription for a bit and see if this helps. What do you think?

Did a lot of cleaning over the weekend, moved my workout room upstairs...maybe doing it on carpet will be better than our hardwood floors for my knee.
I am sooooo tired today, can't get moving...I know if my eating was 100% clean I would have more energy...but I don't even seem to have the energy to do that....Does this make sense? I am just feeling so lazy!

Kerry~ Welcome Back :) Did you have a good trip?
Decided against the Kohl's job, way too much for me. I came to reality and there would been no way I could juggle home and full/part time work...I need my sanity...what I have left of it :)

Gayle~ Sounds like you had a great workout...enjoy those DOMS :)
I know what you mean about the free day. I am going on 3 free days already... Not good! Somehow I got to get back into the swing of things. I guess it doesn't help my home life/ & finances are so screwed up. If it comes down to it, we are thinking of putting the Townhouse up for sale.

Jennifer ~ Lucky you, a day off...I wish I did ...Enjoy your workout today...:):)

BBL - Hope everyone is having a Great Monday :):):):)

Good morning again! Okay, I just finished the Leg Blast premix of B&G and my legs are noodles! I did skip the one legged squats because they put too much pressure on my knees (I had to wear my knee brace this morning). And I have decided that I love firewalkers! I'm thinking that on Friday I'm going to try PLB. I just printed out the worksheet for it :)

I'm off to have meal #2 (a protein shake) and then get ready for school and study. Have a fantastic day everyone!

You know, Gayle, it's amazing what something as simple as taking 10 minutes out of your evening to plan the next day's meals can do for you. It really helps keep me on track and the frequent eating keeps me from breaking down and eating junk. Tuesdays are hard as I have class from 1:25-2:15 and lab from 2:30-5pm. So in that 15 minutes, while walking to lab, I have to eat my snack. So usually it's something like almonds and a banana during that time because it's the only filling thing I can think of that doesn't require refrigeration and can easily be stowed in my bag.

Afternoon,:)

Rotation: Slow & Heavy/weekI
Am: 30 minute jog & abs/completed

Today, was suppose to be my rest day. But, since I woke up early, up before alarm clock went off and couldn’t fall back asleep, I decided to do a little workout.

Sorry, I was not able to post during the weekend, busy. But, NO this I was wearing my game face as well as stuffing my face boy I tell ya eatery wasn’t good, onwards & forward, right.

Saturday: hour jog
Sunday: BM2 Scrambled Eggs & 40 minute walk

See told ya I had my game face on :D

Hello to All BFL Challengers!

I am off to a late start this morning. I did wake up at around 6am but ended up falling asleep again until 8am. I usually don't do that though so this is new. Maybe I just did too much over the weekend and it is just now getting me.

Started my work day to find that the internet service was down so this is why I am just now getting to check-in with you all. I spent most of the morning on the phone with the service department.
The gentleman I was talking with started to get nervous because he couldn't figure out what was wrong. NOTHING ON MY END I can assure you. Comcast is always having problems. If it rains it is down same with wind, snow or just a foggy day! Wish I had satellite service.

Anyway, I have my workout to do shortly after getting the kids fed.
Planning on SH legs and abs. Food has been good so far. Oatmeal for breakfast. Snack: apple w/nut butter. Lunch: tuna salad and fruit.
Next snack: protein drink and dinner will be turkey meatballs and whole wheat spagetti w/salad. Last snack is a yogurt. Of course lots of water in-between.

Kerry: I am going to check out my recorded exercise days and see what my average is too. This will be a good indication as to how things are going and what I should work on. Thanks, I will let you all know later how I am doing so far.

I hope everyone has a great day.
:D

"Morning Ladies,

This is going to be short. I did do PLB today using the same weights as Cathe. I am beat now and have to pick up my children here in a little bit.

I am so proud of everyone coming back for round two. Let's have a great week and keep our word on the clean eating. Last week was just that- last week. What matters now is today.

Have a great day y'all.See you later.

Veronika

Hi Teddygirl,

I see you too are doing the S&H today. Which one?

I finished S&H Legs and Shoulders. I used about half the weight Cathe used just to be on the cautious side. I have not done this workout before so going lighter for me was better. I made a note of weights used so the next time around I can go up.

I feel good and energized and could probably go for a run but I will wait until Tues. because that is the cardio day for me.

Kerry: I checked my workout records and found that on average I had been working out 4 days a week. My goal is to workout 2-3 days more if I can fit it into my schedule. This isn't too bad though.

I hope everyone had a great day, I will check-in tomorrow.

Take Care,
