BFFM folks

Hey guys -
Looks like there are quite a few BFFM newbies out there - myself included. (Thanks Sarah for getting me started on this and Fitday!)

Would anyone like to join a BFFM thread? I am having difficulties eating enough to get to my BMR. Today is a high calorie day for me - which is good since I have dinner with a friend of mine tonight. I can use a few hundred cals for a glass of wine. ;-)

We can share our meal plans with calorie info, share questions, discoveries, etc.......

If we beg and plead, maybe our BFFM experts can jump on and guide us!!! ;-)))))

Hey Lizzy... I am zigzagging too. Sarah is helping me. She's great isn't she? A thread would be great, I'll join in. I have not problems eating my calories though, I love to eat!! I have to go to work now but I'll get back on here later today and see if we can come up with some ideas. :)

Hi Lizzy,

I am interested in threading as a BFFMer. I just finished reading the text and am working on "mastering the fundamentals". I have trialed 3 days of his 1600 cal mod carb plan, and done well.

Technically today would also be my higher (BMR baseline)cal day too. I am spending my free time writing cal/macro nutrient info of foods I will use on my own...and trying to set up Cathe workouts to match.

In short, still a lot of active planning.

When my calipers arrive near next Monday, DH will measure and take my "before" photo.

I am going to do this. "By the inch, it's a cinch"

Hi Lizzy,

I'd be interested in joining the thread. I have the book, but have not finished it yet. i'm not full throttle on the plan yet. A thread would motivate me to stick to it.

This is awesome!!! We have our own little BFFM group going!! Hope everyone is having a great Friday!

This sounds like a good idea since questions come up all the time. I have lost 4 lbs in 4 weeks on BFFM. Counting calories was hard at first but it is getting easier. Today I ate three Hersey's kisses, no harm right? Wrong, they each have 26 cal. a piece!!!! What a waste of 78 cal. Unlike you Lizzy, I have no trouble getting the calories in the hardest part for me is the calculation on the ratios of carbs, protein, and fat. I am going to stick with it to the end, which is about 15lbs more. If anyone has already calculated 50-30-20 meal plans I loved to have them. Staying in a range of 1500-1700 cal. a day. Thanks and have a good day! Vicky

I'm in too. I started the BFFM program this week and tomorrow will be my first "official weight in".
I think I did well with choosing the right food and serving size. My BMR is around 2200 so I'm trying to eat 1400-1800 cal.day. The most I ate this week was little bit more than 1600 so I have to work on this more.
The most uprising for me was that I had no craving at all. I always want to eat something sweet but this week I was satisfied with the food that I ate. Hopefully it will stay this way.
And yes, Sarah is wonderful she helped me too a lot.
Here are my meals for today so far:
Meal 1/380 cal
Protein powder
Plain yogurt
Milk
1 cup grape
Cereal
51% carb
44% protein

Meal 2 and 3/292 cal/meal
Turkey ham
1 whole wheat bread
1 slice cheese
Salad
Since I'm on the road during my day usually my meal 2 and 3 is very similar.

Happy fat burning!

Krisztina

Hey Vicky, I follow the 50-30-20 also. I usually just input my food for the day the night before tinkering with it until I have it right. I usually stick pretty close to just oatmeal with a fruit in it (apple, peaches, etc), egg beaters, a piece of WW toast and my coffee creamer, low on the protein side but I have a protein shake with a frozen fruit in it for a.m. snack so it balances.

Hi Ladies!

I just finished reading the book last week. I had to get it after all the rave reviews on these forums. I really enjoyed the book and felt really excited to get started.

I took my initial measurements and started the eating plan too. I'm telling you it hasn't even been an entire week of lower carbs and I feel leaner already. Fifteen percent (or hopefully lower) bodyfat here I come!!

I wrote my goals down and I have been reading them at least three times a day.

I'm trying to figure 50-30-20 meals as well, so I'd be happy to join in on a BFFM thread.

Can I join too? No expert, but have recently made a recommitment to BFFM. Have been sticking to it ok this week, but have found that it gets harder as night approaches (my fiancee is home and snacking on junk, which somehow makes it into my mouth as well). I am working on 1520 (the 20% deficit), 50/30/20 plan, and pairing it with a 3 month rotation Cathe posted for someone named Chap awhile back that is supposed to result in 20-30 lb weight loss in 3 months. I might have to increase calories as the rotation involves more workouts than Tom Venuto.

What exercise plan does everyone else have?

RE: BFFM folks - is this a silly question?

I read all of these books and I can't find this one. My local Borders says it's out of print so I searched on line and found the down loadable version. Is that what you all are reading and raving about? I want to read this.

RE: BFFM folks - is this a silly question?

I'd like to join in too. I don't have the book yet but I'm planning on buying it. Maybe I can just follow you guys along until I get it. Sounds like a fun challenge. I coming out of lurkdom to try this.

RE: BFFM folks - is this a silly question?

It is a great book!! Just as an FYI - I sent it to a printer and had them print the book with all the reports and bind them for me. It came out to two binders - and around $47.00. It's a lot for a book with the cost of the book, but my little printer would have just died and now I can take it with me everywhere.

Have a great Sat guys!!!

RE: BFFM folks - is this a silly question?

Good morning ladies!

Thought I'd go ahead and start this morning with our check-in. My goals for the day are to have a true BFFM day, which means looking at my goals this morning, eating 5 small meals (meal number one was 350 calories, oatmeal, strawberries, egg white omelet) of clean food, and doing KPC today. I've been cheating a bit on clean eating later at night, so my contingency plan is to look at my goals again, look at Cathe Hardcore pictures for inspiration, take a walk or do Stretchmax to get through the urge to eat, or hop on here and use our checkin for motivation and support!

RE: BFFM folks - is this a silly question?

Hey guys -
Had an OK day today - I worked out for an hour this morning in TaeKwonDo but didn't do any Cathe. I also ran errands ALLLLLLLLLL day!! Man - that wipes me out!!!

My eating this morning was good, for lunch I splurged a bit so my meal tonight (now) will be very light to keep me under my calorie goals. I am anxious to get my body fat clipper in - tomorrow is my weigh in. We'll see how is looks after my first full week of BFFM.

I am off to take a looooooooooooooong hot bath tonight - what a great way to spend Sat night and curled up with BFFM so I can get through it!!LOL!!

FutureFitness - I love your quote - remind me never to let you borrow my shoes!! I am a shoe freak and would have to HUNT YOU DOWN if you took off with my shoes!!!LOL!!! ;-)

xoxo

I too am interested in this thread. I am a BFFM newbie, so I don't think I will be much help, but I would really love menu planning help and suggestions.
