I haven't heard from the Bakeoff folks (if I was going to hear it would have been by 12/15), so I have to try again in 2003 for the 2004 Bakeoff. http://www.plaudersmilies.de/cry.gif They don't run it every year. IN THE MEANTIME, Nestles' has their own baking contest with a deadline of 12/31, so I'm going to ship off a couple of my recipes that didn't make the Pillsbury cut.
What have I learned? These guys want innovation and wide appeal. I will admit that I submitted 2 mincemeat recipes, but that does not have wide appeal. They WERE good recipes, if I do say so myself. I'm going to keep trying since I've been bitten by the bug as was our Aimee with her contests. I may post a couple that I dreamed up except for the ones I'll send to Nestles. I did a Cookie Crust Caramel Cranapple Pie, a Cookie Crust Mincemeat bar, a Pumpkin Mincemeat Cake, a Cookie Crust Choco-Cherry bar, and three others that I'm going to save for other contests. I found that sugar cookie dough is very versitile(spelling). Man, this was an EXPENSIVE project! Cost me about $40.00 a pop every time I baked!
Oh, well. No guts, no glory.
