I haven't heard from the Bakeoff folks (if I was going to hear it would have been by 12/15), so I have to try again in 2003 for the 2004 Bakeoff. http://www.plaudersmilies.de/cry.gif They don't run it every year. IN THE MEANTIME, Nestles' has their own baking contest with a deadline of 12/31, so I'm going to ship off a couple of my recipes that didn't make the Pillsbury cut.

What have I learned? These guys want innovation and wide appeal. I will admit that I submitted 2 mincemeat recipes, but that does not have wide appeal. They WERE good recipes, if I do say so myself. I'm going to keep trying since I've been bitten by the bug as was our Aimee with her contests. I may post a couple that I dreamed up except for the ones I'll send to Nestles. I did a Cookie Crust Caramel Cranapple Pie, a Cookie Crust Mincemeat bar, a Pumpkin Mincemeat Cake, a Cookie Crust Choco-Cherry bar, and three others that I'm going to save for other contests. I found that sugar cookie dough is very versitile(spelling). Man, this was an EXPENSIVE project! Cost me about $40.00 a pop every time I baked!

Oh, well. No guts, no glory.

Oh no!!

Well, I've tasted some of your baked goods and they were amazing! Pillsbury made a big mistake!! Sorry that your recipes weren't chosen - I know how hard you worked! Hope things go better with Nestle!!

Well, shoot, sorry to hear that but Pilsbury's loss is our gain -now you can share your recipes with us! :) Maybe you'll have better luck with Nestles. Or maybe you can publish your own baking book..."From the Kitchen of Honeybunch" or "Honeybunch's 101 Most Scintillating and Decadent Recipes" I'd buy it!

Lorrie

P.S. - I made your s'mores cookies last weekend and they turned out great :9

You may not be a Pilsbury winner but you are still a winner to us! I have made several of your recipes and have just loved them. :9

You will post the mincemeat recipes, won't you? I just love mincemeat....and fruitcake. I guess it's my British background.

I like haggis too.....but that certainly wouldn't win you any prizes!

Good luck with the Nestles contest!

I'd be glad to post the mincemeat recipes, probably tomorrow. I have a marathon workday today that starts at 9:00 and runs until 8:00 tonight. Christmas in a church!

Hi HB!

Bummer! Sorry to hear your news, but as I suspected, you'll PUSH AHEAD to the NEXT contest! Thanks for sharing all your goodies with me this past year. Not sure I should THANK YOU for that as it made me HAVE to workout MUCH harder, but it was worth it.:9 Looking forward to seeing you soon.:7 Good Luck with Nestles!!!
