Best Workout for the Hips

Cathlete
Hello there. Of all the workouts or rotations you have done, what would you say has been the best for slimming down the hips? (and I realize diet being the most important, but I'm referring more to a particular workout).

TIA......would love to hear what has worked for others!!

Hi Kim
I would have to say all of cathe's lower body workouts. To me more so Legs & Glutes, and Pyramids LB, my favorites ..... squats and lunges .. and of course good old fashioned running and walking..... Rhonda:7

I agree with Rhonda about her suggestions. Both videos are great as is walking and running.

Also, kickboxing workouts have worked well for me. Esp. KPC.. there is alot of sidekicks and windmills that really seem to work that area well.

There's something about Power Hour that really diid it for me. It even limbered up my hips. When I do it weekly the benefits stay with me, but I really have to keep at it. But I am not much of a clean eater, so your results may vary!

Thanks for all the feedback everybody!!

Just wondering though....are there any workouts other than Cathe's, or in conjunction with Cathe's, that people feel give great results for the hips? (ie. Firm, Beachbody, Pilates, etc.)?

Thanks again!

Gulp...dare I say it...

I'm seeing results in my hips (and thighs, and butt, and arms, and back, and shoulders, and chest, and core) that I cannot believe!

Well...since you asked! I found my lower body slimmed down quite nicely with the Slim Series. I'm always afraid to mention it to people though because this is a series that you're either really going to love or really going to hate. The only thing that bugs me about this series is the horrible background form of one of the exercisers. He bugs me so much that I usually avoid doing 2 of the wokrouts he's in because I can't stand looking at him! That being said, Debbie is a great instructor and all of the workouts (there are 6) include lots of lower body work, some standing, some floor. Tone it Up is all leg work, and very effective! When I do a SS rotation I usually do a Cathe cardio every other day because I think this series lacks aerobic benefits. But, it has slimmed my hips down nicely.

I'm just getting into to Cathe so I only have BC/ME (which I love and I'm doing the BC challenge). I found that Weights First and Strong Bear really shaped all areas of my lower body. SB really concentrates on inner/outter thigh and WF has an intense lower body focus. I'd say I'm more sore from WF and SB than I am with Standing legs. WF does all the exercises on one side and then goes to the other. My legs use to be out of proportion with a larger quad but since using WF my hamstrings have caught up. You can order them from Fitprime.com
Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the info guys!! I do have the Slim Series, but found I got a tad bit bored with the workouts, but if they give as great results as people swear they do, I might have to grow to love them!! I just got my Bar Method DVD's a week or so ago, and supposed to get my Callanetics soon too, so hopefully I can somehow incorporate all these little gems with my Cathe's and really get the hips/legs/butt I deserve!! :)

You guys are great!!!

Kim
