Best stretches for hip flexor?

Hi Cathe,

Your post-workout stretches are always fabulous and really help me wind down. However, even after doing the runner's lunge and other quad/hip flexor stretches I am still really sore the next day. It seems that my hip flexor (primarily the right side) doesn't respond to the stretches, and for the next 2-3 days I end up taking naproxen sodium to relieve the "pinched nerve" feeling (I have no idea if that's what it is, though).

Can you help?
Thanks so much, and again, THANK YOU for being such a terrific inspiration!
Lynne

I'm not THAT Cathe :), but have you ever tried camel pose? That one is excellent for the quads and hip flexors.

I know Cathe does pigeon in many of her stretches...this is also good for opening up the hips.

Here is another one to try using the stability ball...

Good luck!

Cathy,

Thanks so much for the reply! These are great and I'm going to simply incorporate them into my morning routine, even if they are added to the existing stretches.

Best,
Lynne:)
