Best Stress Reducing Cathe !ape

I was having a hard day yesterday. I didn't feel like working out but I did it anyway. I popped in Cardio Kicks because I didn't feel like dragging my bench out. Not 10 minutes into the video I was feeling better. Then, I was punching and kicking as hard as I could. I just let out all the the bundled up stress by punching, kicking and just having fun. Cathe is a great motivator. I know it sounds weird but I was almost in tears at the end when there is a punching medley. I was just thinking about what was bothering me and just punching it away. I felt such relief when this work-out was over. I would suggest this particular tape for times when you are a little down on life and stressed out. Cathe is upbeat and that is refreshing and the work-out just rocks!

You know what? I think that's awesome and thank you for sharing that with all of us. There are days when I think everyone can relate to that kind of stress and tension being all bottled up and I think all of Cathe's workouts have such a terrific energy level and sense of fun, any of them could count as therapy or mobile meditation.

But now I can't wait to try Kickbox when it comes up in my rotation, it sounds like a blast. I could just picture certain people in front of me while I kick and punch away! Although since I just saw Charlie's Angels (which was hilarious and so much fun, by the way) I might want to pretend I'm an angel takin down a bad guy ;)

But I do know the days I've felt really down or angry or stressed and somehow made myself at least start the warm-up, by the time it's done I'm in a whole different place. That's why i think I'm addicted to working out, but as addictions go, I'll take it!

Great stress reliever

I'm going through a stressful time right now and yesterday was particularly bad. I decided to do MIC this morning - this is my hardest workout - and felt so great when I was done. It really made a big difference and I was so glad that I have exercise in my life.
Of course, ten minutes later I was stressed out again, but for that one hour I felt terrific!!

RE: Great stress reliever

Hi Erica,
I hope that your stress will be over soon. I appreciate all the times that you have responded to my posts and my many, many questions. You have been a source of inspiration to me. Anybody with 3 young kids that still works exercise into their schedule would be inspiration to anybody! Hope you have the happiest Thanksgiving ever.

Question for Lisa

Hi Lisa,
Have you given up diet soda? I was wondering if you did and if so, if you felt any results. I keep vowing to stop or cut down, but haven't done it - I keep putting it off. I want to do it for both health reasons, and also to see if I drop any weight or at least "puffiness".
Thanks a lot for your post! The stress has just been the normal holiday stuff combined with a ton of school stuff right now for my kids and the fact that my kids are going through a phase (I really hope it's just a phase) of nonstop bickering and fighting. I just can't handle the fighting all the time on top of everything else and it makes me nuts.
Finding the time to exercise with the kids isn't too bad now because I don't work and they are in school part-time. All of you women out there who work and find time for exercise are inspirations to me!!
Hope you have a wonderful holiday!

RE: Question for Lisa

Hi Erica,
I have managed to cut down to one diet coke per day. Sometimes I drink the kind with caffeine and other times I choose one without caffeine. I'm having problems with headaches, which I have been told is normal when you cut down on caffeine. I gave in this past Saturday and Sunday and chose the kind with caffeine just to get rid of my headache. Hopefully soon, I will get the motivation to suffer thru the headache and tough it out.
I believe I will have to get the soda out of my body for at least 2 or 3 weeks to lose any puffiness or weight. If I manage to quit soon and notice any weight loss, I will definitely let you know (cause I'd be so happy!)
Take care.
Lisa
