I posted this on "Video & DVD Questions and Comments" but did not get any responds...

I just came from getting my body fat % done. According to the chart I am obese, 32% . I love doing cardio, walking, biking and eliptical. Which I do 5-6 times a week for about 45-60min. I was told I need to add in weight training to gain muscle and lose weight. I am 37, 5'3", 150lbs, and gain weight recently from being 16 weeks pregnant and having a miscarriage. Prior to being pregnant I was 133lbs. Any one have ideas for the best weight training Cathe DVDs.

I am so sorry to learn of your miscarriage. Hope you are healing both physically and emotionally.

You did not mention if you like or do Step Aerobics; or if you have ever trained with weights before.

If you are a beginner, I would suggest Low Impact Step & Total Body Sculpting, a set which you can get at Target which includes a small step, an exercise ball, etc. If you have equipment, you might try Basic Step and Body Fusion, or High Step Circuit. All of those are Beginner/Intermediate. I mentioned Circuit workouts here, because they are good for continued weight loss, if that is your goal.

Push & Pull and Supersets are easy to follow and you can use weights you are comfortable with to start. If you have never used weights before, be sure to start very light so you can perfect your form first, then add as you get stronger. They are both "total body.

I would suggest you browse around in Cathe's store and look carefully at the descriptions. Watch the video clips if you can. Any of Cathe's weight DVDs are great, but you would probably benefit the most from any that are "Total Body" rather than just Upper, Lower, or split-style (like the Gym Styles) at this point.

Hope this helps,

Julie

I just wanted to post a welcome and also well wishes for your physical and emotional healing.

Julie has given you great advice and I second her recommendations.

Take care and check in.:)

Hi and welcome to the Cathe forums!

I really don't have anything to add, just that trying to decide on a DVD is a mind blowing experience because there are so many to choose from. You might consider posting a question in the "Ask Cathe" forum, too. She will likely have some good advice for you.
