Hey, I'm totally with you on the video fever thing. I think I have all of Cathe's right now but the second she releases more I know I'll be breaking out the credit card!
I used a rotation of all Cathe for a while that I loved and that gave me amazing changes. I'm doing a 12 week rotation now and the last 4 weeks of it will be going back to that one. here's what it was;
Mon- PS Strong Legs and Abs
Tues- PS Chest/Shoulders/Tris then cardio after
Wed- PS Back/Bis/Abs then cardio after
Thurs- PS Legs/Abs
Fri- PS Ch/Sh/Tris plus cardio
Sat- PS Back/Bis/Abs plus cardio
Now, I know it's daunting to do cardio after you weight train, most people just feel too tired to do that but it's a really great way to train and here's why. Your body does access and utitlize fuel in a certain order, and working out to address that order just makes a good use of your time, it's efficient. First your body will access carbs stored in the muscles, which is perfect during weight training. Chances are, you will deplete or almost deplete those glycogen stores by the time you get to the cardio so your body will start to access stored bodyfat for fuel more quickly that just doing cardio alone or first. You still get a benefit from working out the other way around, of course, but several trainers I worked with taught me about this and I experienced that change in results firsthand when I followed that advice. I did the above rotation for about 5 weeks and it was amazing, the changes I saw. And I didn't have to do long cardio after the weights, I just did about 30-45 minutes. I'd vary the length and intensity of the cardio to keep it fresh, too. Maybe do interval work some days, straight step the next.
So, that's one idea for you. But I loved the results so much I'm bringing it back again. First I'm doing CTX for 4 weeks, then another rotation I put together for 4, then the one above. It's my 12 week plan to really get some muscles and some definition.
Take care!
