Benefits of Omega-3 ???

The new book by Bob Greene says that you should take a multi every day, extra calcium (if you don't get enough) and add an Omega-3 supplement.

For those of you who take it, how much do you take? What are the benefits?

If you don't take it, why not?

TIA,
Jenn

I would be interested in what others have to say also. I do take EFA Total which has both Omega-3 and Omega-6. I take these supplements b/c I cannot bring myself to eat fish, and except for walnuts and flax seeds I do not eat many foods that contain fatty acids. I don't know if the supplements make a difference in my overall health, but I do notice that if I take them consistently my skin looks better.

Same question here--does anyone take them and if not, why not?

I don't know what anyone else says, but in "YOU: On a Diet" they recommend taking 2 gm of Omega supplement. That amounts to about 2 capsules a day as most of them are 1000-1200 mg in strength.
