Bench Press 1RM--burning Q

I've been recording many of my 1RM's lately and stumped myself with this one--how did you do your bench press: barbell or dumbbell? I did barbell, but when I look at my 1RM compared to the Cathe Nation's 1RM, it's waaaayyy off. How can we tell which is the way it's intended to be calculated? The exercise is just described as a "flat bench press" or "incline bench press", without using the word barbell or dumbbell in the title.

Ex: I did 10 reps with a 60 lb barbell--so I entered my weight as 60 lbs. Others may have done 10 reps with 2 30 lb. dumbbells and entered 30 lbs. Two completely different 1RMs are calculated!

Thanks!

It really doesn’t matter as far as 1RM testing goes if you enter a weight for just one dumbbell or for both. Entering the weight for just one dumbbell will save you from having to divide by two, but of course will affect the group stats for that exercise. So, something we will need to address in a future release. We still have an “exercise details” section to add for the 1RM test that will be completed shortly which will list the equipment you will need as well as some other information.

Good question

That was a good question. I had the same issue with squats. I used a squat rack and my 1rm was much higher than the average. I was wondering if I wasn't supposed to use the squat rack, but I was trying to go as heavy as I could.
