Belly Fat and Yeast in the body??

A friend at work gave me an article about women who have problems losing their belly fat. That's definately me. It said that could be due to an overload of a type of yeast called candida that lives in our bodies. Symptoms are

Slow midsection weight gain
Depression, mood swings, anxiety and/or brain fog (yes)
Constant fatigue or lack of stamina (YES!!!)
Cravings for sweets, breads or alcohol (yes)
Regular bouts of indegestions, gas, bloat, constipation and/or diarrhea (yes)
Recurrent vaginal yeast infections or fungal infections such as athlete's foot or nail problems
Frequent headaches, joint pain and/or muscle soreness
Puffy Face or swollen hands, feet and/or ankles

It says that within a week of eating properly (and they give an outline of foods to eat)you can normalize these yeast levels.

I have always had a belly and it is the hardest thing for me to tone up. I look in the mirror and think if I could just lose this belly fat I would look fine.

Has anyone else heard of this? It got me thinking.

I think so many things can go wrong with your body when you don't eat right, it is as simple as that. There has to be a healthy balance to keep everything in check, and eating clean helps to do just that. I had mostly all of those symptoms you listed all the time just from eating bad all the time and now I feel years younger. I use to eat really bad. I could eat an entire box of chocolates in just 2 days, etc and all I drank was tons of regular sugary soda.
Also, I may not have the rock hard abs yet, but they are coming. I really feel like if you want to lose the belly fat, you have to eat clean and do alot of Cathe ab workouts plus cardio. The one in Superset is a very good ab workout, I just finished it.
Just be patient, don't give up and stick to a routine. I am still frustrated that I don't have muscle bulging out of my legs, but I think I abused my body for so long that it is going to take a bit more time.
Good Luck!

Hi, Charlotte:

I wanted to say I thought your response was great and dead-on. There is a lot of confusing information out there particularly on the subject of the diet.

I agree with you that it's about finding a good balance and avoiding the junk (which is sometimes really hard). But wow do you feel good when you stick with it... and also, CARDIO! You can't spot-reduce, unfortunately. (Of course, if you could, one wonders what the typical female would look like... Barbie, maybe. lol)

:)

Cheers,
Marie

I think what you have all said is true also! I have read that these problems with yeast and all of the nasty side effects of yeast overgrowth that you mentioned can be highly correlated with eating too much sugar. Especially the really bad processed stuff full of white sugar. Eating lots of sweets and chocolate and sugary soda will definitely give you problems. Sugar is food for yeast, so when you keep eating sugar, you are encouraging the yeast to grow. Clean up the diet and the problems magically disappear!
