Beginning (again) Question??

Hi,

I wasn't real sure where to post this, so I posted both here and in the Ask Cathe forum.

I don't get a chance to post here that often, but I need some help! I'm not new to Cathe's workouts, but I haven't worked out in over a year due to a difficult pregnancy, delivery and recovery. My baby is now almost 5 months old, and I'm almost ready to get back into the world of exercise....almost.

I ordered a bunch of the beginner DVDs (Basic Step, High Step Circuit, Low Impact Step & Sculpting, Total Body Stretch) and the Wedding Video (which I used to have and love!!).

So my question is....how would I go about incorporating High Step Circuit and the Wedding Video into Cathe's official "Beginner Rotation"???

Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

Hi Melanie,

It sounds like you've had a really difficult year! I'm glad you and the baby are OK. I'm not sure that High Step Circuit (or the Wedding Workout for that matter) is a beginner workout but if you feel up to it, go for it. The Wedding workout is 2 workouts- 1 step cardio and 1 total body weights. I couldn't figure out a good way to work it in during weeks 1 to 6 but it looks like you could fit it in during weeks 7 to 12 if you substitute the step portion for Low Impact Step on certain days and you substitute the weight segment from the Wedding Workout for Total Body Sculpting during these same weeks. I guess that way you can take it easy for the first 6 weeks and work up to these since I think they might be a bit harder than the scheduled workouts.

For the High Step Circuit, the first 6 weeks it looks to me like it could be substituted for the workouts scheduled for Saturdays. During weeks 7 through 9, substituted for Sunday's workout, and during weeks 10 through 12 substituted for Tuesday's workout.

Good Luck!
