Hello All,
I can't believe I got up so early today. It's 10am and my workout is complete. My day will be busy making goodies and I really wanted to get it in. I can't believe I said I wanted to exercise. Anyhoo....

Today's workout was Powerstrike. HRM says 540 calories. Gotta love that! Heart rate was a little low though. That won't improve till I get more confident with the workout.

This is no time to slack off. There are too many holidays surrounded by food, family and friends.

Let's go people, who's next...

Hello Chris!

Hopefully everyone will join in later on. Today starts my new workout week. My schedule is as follows:

Sun - Rest
Mon - Low Impact Step
Tues - High Step Circuit
Wed - Leslie Sansone
Thurs - Low Impact Step
Fri - High Step Circuit
Sat - Rest

I hope that my new TJ's come in this weekend. I plan on adding it to my rotation the following week. So my cardio will include 3 days step and 2-3 days of TJ plus I will add in Abs and Upper body work.

:) Good Evening Ladies.

I had a great day today. I started my week of workouts with Kick, Punch, and Crunch. It makes me feel so strong and really works out my backside. I mean from my shoulders down to the hamstrings.

Tomorrow is going to be my rest day for the week. I am very tired this evening. I and my mother went to see her father who is in the hospital recovering from a broken right femur. He is 92 yrs. old, but I am all for believing God on the 120 He says I can live. My grandfather's spirits have improved greatly since he first went into the hospital a month ago. I did not lose weight this week, but my clothes feel different. I have lost four of the forty pounds that I need to lose and will stay the course. I have my game down for Thanksgiving. Turkey is going to be the healthiest thing on my plate.

As far as posting my workout schedule, I think it will be heavy in cardio. You all have a great night and hopefully I will be able to post again before the week is over.
God Bless!!

Belinda,
I'm so sorry that your grandfather is in the hospital with a broken leg. I hope he gets better soon so he can go home. Of course we won't fault you for not posting.

I haven't done kick, punch and crunch yet. I'll have to view it and maybe add it on to this weeks rotation.

Kim, you will love turbo jam. I just looked at cardio party 2, I think I'll do that one this week.

RE: Beginner/Intermediate Weekly Check In-11/20 to 11/2...

Don't be jealous, but it was 80 degrees today (Phoenix area) and I went walking, biking and swimming!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tomorrow I have to clean house thoroughly and so will skip exercise since mopping and scrubbing is all I can handle for one day.
I'm finding that I work harder doing non-Cathe DVD's. Cathe is so hard that I modify down and end up exercising too light. Going back to the Firms I really push it becuase I know they won't kill me. I will test out this theory when my HRM arrives, supposedly tomorrow!Have a good week everyone!

RE: Beginner/Intermediate Weekly Check In-11/20 to 11/2...

Good Morning everyone,

Belinda, I am sorry to hear about your grandfather. I hope he has a strong recovery.

This morning I did Low Impact Step. I really wasn't in to it this morning because I kept thinking about TJ:) workouts. Chris, what is the difference between Cardio Party 1 and Cardio Party 2?

RE: Beginner/Intermediate Weekly Check In-11/20 to 11/2...

Good Morning, All! It'll be a weights and kickbox week...

Yesterday was supposed to be yoga, but sometimes you NEED to pump some iron...That sometimes here is when MOM's coming to town...Oh, I have my OWN house for only 2 1/2 more days...

*Sunday-Push/Pull (seperated, heavy, one round)
*Monday-KPC (full thing, do high intensity drills again at the end)
*Tuesday-Push/Pull (in entirety, 2 rounds, mid weights)
*Wed.-CTX Kickbox, 2x's (warm-up, routine 2x's, abs, stretch)
*Thusday-Take the dog for a walk before getting the sale newspaper! 3 miles...
*Friday-Push/Pull (Upper Body Blast, and Lower Body Blast)
*Saturday-KPC-extra 100 crunches (50 mid, 25 to each side-I do these BEFORE KPC, otherwise abs are fried at the end)

RE: Beginner/Intermediate Weekly Check In-11/20 to 11/2...

Beth-I find that I push myself more doing cathe. I think of the workouts as a challenge. I don't do any jumps other than jumping jacks. Mainly because I'm in a top floor apartment.

Kim-The difference between cardio party 1 and 2 is there's more impact in 2. Cardio Party 2 has quicker moves and more jumping. The beauty of the two is that they can both be done low impact or you can amp it up. Cardio party 1 I burn over 400 calories doing it mostly low impact.

Martijean-That's a heck of a schedule!

My upper body is sore from powerstrike yesterday. I'm also tired from baking, so this mornings workout didn't happen. But, the day is not over. I plan to do something when I get home after work.

Good Morning All:

I'm off all week with the kids - so I'm really going to have to get motivated.

DD wanted donuts this morning - (yes I had two donut holes) and watched Desperate Housewives which I taped from last night. I thought, what a perfect morning. Donuts and Desperate Housewives, what is better than that?? But, you know what -- it wasn't perfect, because I felt guilty - and donuts don't taste so good anymore!!

So - I checked the boards - saw the post from Belinda about KPC making her feel strong -- and it got me motivated. I hadn't done KPC before - so I decided to "just do it" and you are right - I do feel stronger! That is a great workout! I still need to work on those pikes at the end!!

Thanks gals - for keeping the motivation going!!

Michelle

Hi all! I've been dealing with two sick kids (out of three) and now I have it and have completely lost my voice. Assuming I hurry up and get better, here's my schedule for the next few days. I'm assuming tomorrow will have to be a rest day to continue to recover.

Wed: Kick, Punch & Cruch.
Thursday: Muscle Endurance
Friday: Low Max
Saturday: Boot Camp
Sunday: Kick Punch & Crunch

Belinda -- I'm so sorry to hear about your grandfather, and hope he feels better soon.

Do you think folks might be more committed to the check-in if we all got to know each other a little better? We could do a get to know you day where we posted weight loss and/or fitness goals, job and/or family info, etc. Just let me know what you thinl.

I thank you all for your concern, but my grandfather is by far cooperative with being off his feet. Miraculously at least in my grandfather's case; pain is a good thing. At least now he can give the therapist feedback on techniques that are/aren't working. I thought I would post because it is that time of the month and absolutely refuse to get my face into the refrigerator. After Wednesday, that time will be over and I'll be four pounds lighter.

My workout schedule needs more cardio this week, I feel. I also have been using just the 4" platform ever since I started Cathe. Starting Wednesday I will go to 6". My workout schedule is as follows...

Sun - KPC (all but last combo, all ball)
Mon - Off Day
Tues - SJP (step/hi-lo)
Wed - Power Training, CXT (6")
Thr - Step Blast (1,2,3 on 6")
Fri - Off Day
Sat - KPC (all, no cuts)

Belinda

Happy Tuesday All,

Today's workout was step aerobics with Cher. I wish it were on dvd cause this vhs-tape is gonna die at some point and I'll be sad. I used a 4", but definitely should've used 6". Oh well, next time I will. It's funny how I haven't done this tape in over a year, but it all came back to me.

RE: Beginner/Intermediate Weekly Check In-11/20 to 11/2...

Tuesday-I got my new HRM last night so had to try it out with IMAX 2 today of course. But I just did the blast premix and only the first 5. I found that I needed to pause the DVD to recover longer so my HR got down into recovery zone. It means I"m out of shape! But the HRM will really, really help. When I did the blasts I was able to jump higher and push harder and I knew when to back off when my HR got up to 158. I should have replaced my old one sooner. It makes such a difference.
Tomorrow I need to do total body weights but I think 2 days in a row of intense Cathe will be overdoing it. I think I will do Firm Cardio Sculpt again, since its really a weights workout.

Hello everyone,

It feels awkard posting this at night when I worked out this morning. I did Cathe High Step Circuit. I am thinking about getting KPC. It looks like everyone is enjoying it.

RE: Beginner/Intermediate Weekly Check In-11/20 to 11/2...

Hi Kimberly,
I haven't actually done kpc yet. I bought it on vhs, but now I want the dvd version for the premixes. I think I'm going to treat myself to the dvd version.

Workouts have been null for today. Thanksgiving preparation is very tiring. I can't wait to get back on focus this weekend.

RE: Beginner/Intermediate Weekly Check In-11/20 to 11/2...

Hello everyone,

Chris I am looking on the Ya Yas Swap for the KPC/LG DVD. I am ready for it. I didn't workout today. I tried to get to work early this morning since I have Thursday and Friday off. Plus I had some errands to do after I got off work. It's 9:30 pm and I am just winding down for the day. I do plan on doing a short workout tomorrow though. I don't plan on leaving the house tomorrow until about 12 noon.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone,

I haven't exercised today. I just relaxing, watching movies all day until I go over to my parents house and my fiance' parents house later this evening. I guess I am really not in the mood today. I will pick back up tomorrow! I am going to need it!!

RE: Beginner/Intermediate Weekly Check In-11/20 to 11/2...

Me to kimberly. I'm at my auntie's house now since my mom wanted to come early and help out. Needless to say, I don't live close to auntie so I had to stay here or waste an hour ride back home. I'm updating her norton subscription, letting it scan her computer, but not before I had to check out the boards :D . I will be ontrack tomorrow too.

RE: Beginner/Intermediate Weekly Check In-11/20 to 11/2...

Hello All,
Just got finished with low max for the very first time. I did the premix of intervals 1-4, but not before playing with the step portions. So my workout ended up being almost an hour. The premix is clocked at 45 minutes. Burned 538 cal, but I took the intensity down on the last blast as my heart rate was getting into anaerobic zone. When Cathe was finished with that blast, she went into the cool down. I wasn't ready for that, so I had to pause and walk around a bit.

I really liked it and will definitely add it to the rotation next week. Tomorrow I will play with KPC. I need to come up with a plan for next week.

Not sure why another thread was started, but Beth I was sorry to read about your companion passing on.

Hope everyone is doing well.

RE: Beginner/Intermediate Weekly Check In-11/20 to 11/2...

Beth, I am sorry about your dog. I have grown to understand the bond of pets and their owners, through my son and his cat. We had to put his cat Mikee down this summer.

Crissy, we are even on the workouts. I took the day off and so did my boss. It amazes me how productive I am when he is absent. He will be on vacation for the next ten days, WHOOOA!! :7 :7 :7

Kimberly, thank you for the insight on the job situation. My job is more or less a change of heart. I do home equity lines and home refinances. Sometimes the pressure to help people go deeper in debt doesn't sit well with me.

I watched our evening news here in Cleveland and don't you know they had on a spot on the Wal-mart stores. They showed customers getting trampled and a man was arrested for disturbing the peace by jumping a line. Tomorrow is KPC. Gotta go.
