I assume you mean Emerald Isle in North Carolina. My Dad lives there. You can always ride the waves, but sometimes the ocean is pretty calm. Depends on what's happening out in the sea. It's a beautiful place, though, with plenty to do, so you will enjoy it. I'll be down end of July, beginning of August.
yes,i ment Emarald Isle. is there a beach near by thats good for boogy bording? i think i would still like to go to Emerald Isle to see her but will miss the surfing.
We went to Hilton Head a couple years ago. The sea was very calm and beautiful. Not too many waves. We were there in off season. We stayed at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Very nice. We rode bikes and played mini golf. Went to the Lighthouse and climbed to the top. IMO there wasn't much to do except golf. DH is a big golfer so he was in heaven. But DD and I had a great time also.
I just got back from Folly Island SC. It's just outside of Charleston. There were a lot of surfers there on the beach. Very laid back and relaxing. The island itself is about 7 miles long. There is Morris Lighthouse on one end. We rode bikes there it was a 7 mile round trip and beautiful. The other end of the island is a state park. The rest of the island is rental homes, shops and resturants.
Gorgeous beach! I can't remember that we swam much because it was fall and a hurricane had just gone up the eastern seaboard, but we stayed at the RV park there, right on the ocean. I'd love to go back.... it's so lovely.
WE went to Emerald isle this past summer for one week and it is a beautiful beach. Not alot to do for the teenagers, kind of quiet. There was a storm approaching, so the waves were big, not sure how they are routinely.
