Basic Step + Body Fusion: which step is that?

Hi I am new and just got Basic Step and body fusion. What step is used for that? It looks more square than the club step listed on this site. Also, where would be a good place to get the band? As you can tell, I'm new to all this. Thanks!
Ann

Hi Ann,

I use the club step for all Cathe's workouts. You don't want to get something too small and then discover you want a club step later on. I am not sure why she uses the smaller step in this one, but he club step works just fine.

I bought my band and hand weights at Wal-Mart. They have a nice selection at good prices. (It's also where I got my ball and workout clothes.)

Have fun - once you start doing Cathe, you'll get addicted!!!

Hi Ann and welcome to the Cathe forums!! You made a wise purchase and these workouts will provide a great introduction to Cathe's choreography and unique style.

The step used in these workouts was included in a package deal available at certain retail stores. I think you'd be better served by getting the original club step. That way, as you progress and add to your equipment, you'll be able to buy a high step topper that will work with the risers.

You'll find links to bands and other equipment on Cathe's homepage.

Cathe developed a 12 week rotation utilizing her beginner workouts that you might find helpful as well. Here's the link and enjoy!

The step used in Basic Step is a regular club step. The one used in Body Fusion is the smaller version. She also uses the small one in Low Impact Step, but I *think* those are the only two.

the dvd basic step and body fusion is sold at target in a package deal for $59.99 and includes 3 DVD's including a stretch, the band, ball, pump, and an unusally small step. the only reason i know this is because i bought it for my husband who is just starting out using Cathe videos. i returned it because i thought the step was to small for him. i think it's a great value for a beginner, . . but i agree with a previous post eventually you will want to graduate to a full sized step and invest in the rest of the equipment. trust me it is all well worth the investment!
