hi all,
i have been using and loving my troy lite fitness barbell, but I don't think it was made to take more than about 60lbs....so now i have to figure out what to do when I get to meso #2...what are you all using.???Thanks Elena

Fitness First, which is the place where I bought my TL BB, says it has a maximum capacity of 80#. I also think some folks are using a weighted vest.

Personally, I have a squat rack with a heavier BB. I am glad that I do because now I can have my TL BB loaded for some exercises and the heavier one for others. That will give me more time to breathe :p

I use a regular olympic barbell, with olympic weight plates. I have an olympic 5ft and 6ft
barbell.

We actually use Troy Lite barbells in STS and never had any problems with weights up to 100 lbs.

All manufacturers underestimate the the maximum weight for any product for liability reasons. The Step Company says the maximum a person can weigh and use their Step is 200 lbs, yet we have steps that have been used for many years in our health club by people weighing well over 200 lbs and using a barbell weighing 50 to 80 lbs with no problems. The High Step that we invented also has a maximum weight limit of 200 lbs, but we would have no problem having an NFL offensive lineman work out on it.

Though we can't say what is a maximum safe weight for a Troy barbell for our own liability reasons, we can say we used these same barbells in STS with slightly over 100 lbs on them and experienced no problems.
