When you guys use your barbells do you count the weight of the barbell to? Say you are doing barbell rows and you have 15 lbs on each side, do you count an extra 5 lbs for your barbell?
Just curious

Yes I have always included the weight of my barbells. I have 3 in different weight increments!! So for my 15lb barbell if I added 5 lbs weight plates on each side the total weight lifting would be 25 lbs...HTH...:)...Carole

Yes, I always include the weight of the barbell...gosh, I have one that weighs 25 pounds! I wish I didn't include the weight of the barbell, can you imagine then how much I might really be lifting? I would love it though as I would really be beasting! LOL

Goody! I did to.:) Why wouldn't we? cathe as just always said," i have 35 lbs on my barbell" So when I was working out yesterday I thought about it.
I don't know how much my barbell weighs.Im thinking 10 lbs. It a metal bar so it can't be that light. I could try hoping on the scale with it but I have a digital scale and if the least little thing is off it won't read.

Lori!

Can you just put your bar on the scale? I have done this before to weigh my bars and it worked fine.

I always include the weight of the bar as well as the weight. As Debbie says, I have weighed the bar on my scale and know it is 15 lbs.. Mine is by Weider. Then I add the weight plates.
