Barbell weight for LBP

First thankyou for the news of the new workouts to come I'm verry excited! I was quite sick this spring with microplasma pneumonia, I think the Doctor called it. I had at least two weeks when I could not workout I lost about 10 pounds because I had no appitite and slept alot. It took a long time to fully recover, have normal breathing during workouts etc. Your motivating vidioes sure helped inspire me to be strong and recover faster, I hated looking at them collecting dust on the shelf thats for sure! Now back to training hard I wondered if you could please help me with a question. If I use about a 48 pound barbell for my sqats in all your workouts, what would be a challenging weight selection for the barbells for me ,used in Lower Body Pyramid ? I have used 30, 40, then 48 about for the heavy weight so for ,but I don't feel as fatiged as I think I sould. Should I pump it up more ? Sorry this is so long , can't wait to hear from you .:)

I'm obviously not Cathe, but I wanted to let you know that I had microplasma pneumonia when I was in high school. I ended up dehydrated and in the hospital for almost a week. I missed over a month of school and my recovery period was a long one. My doctor told me to take it really slow and not push myself too hard to get back to normal. I just want to encourage you to listen to your body and your doctor and to take it little by little. If I understand correctly it would be easy to relapse into this if you do too much too fast. I had it a LONG time ago and at first the doctors did not know what I had so I was getting sicker and sicker so mabye it is not as bad as it was in my case. Anyway, good luck and take it slow!

Angela, thankyou for your thoughtful advice. I was the same as you I just kept getting sicker and it was scary. After being on an inhailer taking cold and flu medicine I was still getting worse. I went to my doctor twice he told me to stay on the inhailer and I probably caught another cold along with broncitis. One day after that week I felt so weak i could bearly get up for very long and I felt funny dizzy etc. So I told my husband to drive me to the hospital, while waiting for the doctor to come to the room I slept or was starting to pass out, not sure. Anyways he woke me, check my breathing and asked alot of questions, said you sound awfull and then told me it was microplasma pneumonia. He put me on huge antibiotic pills and as I left the hospital all the nurses said drink lots and lots of water. They stressed the water so much you didn't see me without a water bottle in my hand for weeks. I was sick feb. march and finally felt better in April, but my voice was different till May. I sound like myself again now, I was wondering if I'd ever would , I'm an Instructor and all my crew felt bad for me when I had to cue without a headset. All is well now , but last night driving to the gym to teach a Step class a truck turning in the intersection almost crushed me. I had to quickly back up 3 times to avoid being flattened. It happened so fast and he wasn't stopping or slowing down. Thank goodness no one was behind me all I could do then was maybe , just get out fast. I'm still alittle shaken up , so I had to share the story. Off went the truck , people in other cars that saw just stared with open mouths, and off I drove thanking God I was still here. I thought of my children, my husband and hugged them all alittle tighter when I got back home. My little girls name is Angela and she is 9 years old, she's a beautiful child. Take care Angela, thanks again .:)
