Barbell Question

I have only been using the barbell for about 3 weeks, I am getting a bruise on the lower back of my neck right at my shoulder line. My bar is padded, should I try putting a towel there or will it go away as I get used to using or am I placing it in the wrong place? I really can't get it much lower without hurting my arms. Advice from anyone would be great!:D

I had this problem, but even worse was the threaded ends on my bar. It was driving me nuts trying to change weights, especially with PLB etc. All the screwing and unscrewing......Yikes!!

I found a bar on clearance with the spring clips, and love it. I didn't even pay attention to the fact that it is one the "bendy" kinds, with all the grips. I thought it might not be right, until I had to get it up and over my head. It seems to fit better across the back with the slight angle that is there. Not so much of a straight bar weight, but a bit of a curve so the weight seems more even across the back.

A nice bonus when all I was looking for were the clips! Maybe that would help.

You know, I'm not sure. I threw the box away and there are no markings on the bar itself or the clips. I know I got it at Target....actually I think it was Target. It may have been Shopko. It came in a box that was only the barbell and the clips, no weights. I think I paid 10.00 on clearance. It felt a bit risky at the time because I didn't know if the spring clips would work with my barbell, which they didn't. So I tried the bent bar and love it. My back and shoulders love it too. The clips are also awesome, so quick with the changes that I don't need to stop the VCR anymore. I don't know if there is a disadvantage to the shape of the bar, but my wrists are in a more comfortable position, and like I said before, it sort of hugs your back as opposed to pressing hard in the middle. If I find out more information I will let you know. I might need to run to Reno this week, so if I come across it again I could possibly pick it up for you. Let me know if that is something you would want. You may just want to look near where you live.
