Baptism Gift

My bff's baby is getting christened on Oct 3; I don't know what to get as a gift. Everyone gets bonds so I didn't want to go that route. I wanted to do something different. Any suggestions?

We usually give money or jewelry in my culture, but i have also seen people give keepsakes such as bibles or music boxes.

When I was baptized, a friend of my mom's gave me a baby cross, and I still have/wear it today. It's a great choice. If you don't want to spend that much, they make great selections of baby books of prayers. They are very sweet little picture books filled with blessings and prayers. I love to give this along with an angel doll for gifts. This is my favorite children's prayer book:

and this is a cute little angel toy you can give with it: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4370642 (They also sell it in blue if it's a boy.)

I'm glad you ladies said jewelry; I saw a really nice locket that I was going to get engraved with "May God Bless You and Keep You" and her name on the back, but one of my friends said that would be more of a Communion gift. I just thought it would be cool to have a piece of jewelry from when she was a baby until she was older.

I agree with jewerly. A cross pendent would be nice. If you google baptismal gifts you should be able to fine lots of items.

Also when my nephew was christened his godfather(who is also his uncle, I am his godmother) gave a picture frame, on one side it holds a picture and on the other side it is engraved with date, names of the baby, parents and godparents and a beautiful poem to remember the day by. My sister has it in his room with a picture of him with his parents and his god parents.
