Back home from the hospital

Well, I just call them The Adopted Daughter and The Orphan. The prosthesis is (was) called the Foster Child.

I *don't* recommend this roundabout method for getting a tummy tuck - haha! However, if this muscle sparing, non-implant option was not available, I would not have gotten reconstruction at all.

Shelley - I am thinking only the best for your sister and wish her all the most wonderful luck in the world! We are following in the footsteps of a lot of strong, feisty, warrior women and we will prevail!

Dianne -

I know that haunted feeling well. Even the relief I feel now, even the day-to-day getting on with things is always guarded, you know? Once you've wrestled your own mortality, you give it a - how can you say?- a solemn respect.

I think you understand my meaning.

Best to you!
