B&G after DM...what do you think?

Fit_mommy

Cathlete
I have DrillMax on schedule for tomorrow. In my original rotation that I created I have it like this:

Tues: DM
Wed: 30 mins cardio only
Thurs: B&G + run

I want to rearrange it to the following:

Tues: DM
Wed: B&G
Thurs: run

Think that's okay? My problem is that I can't run on Wednesday due to the scheduling at work, etc.

TIA!

LOL! I thought you meant right after DM, that day. I was thinking, she has gone off the deep end (with the rest of us)!! I think you might want to keep a day in between because DM has a lot of cardio and leg work. You probably want to be fresh for B&G, so I hear ;)

My grandmother started walking five miles a day when she was sixty. She's ninety-seven now, and we don't know where the hell she is.

Okay, thanks for the input Deb! I guess I will keep my rotation as is then. I am not sure what kind of run will be happening after B&G on thursday but I guess I'll find out! :7 :7 :7

BTW, I HAVE gone off the deep end...just not THAT deep yet to do DM and B&G in the same day!:p

I think you need something in between. B&G is waaaaay hard. Think of Meaner Legs, on crack. }( }( }( Really, it just about killed me yesterday! Awesome workout...

Hi Marie!

I know what I am in for pretty much as I've done the leg and floorwork on separate occasions as well as having done DM's cardio and weight work separately. I guess I was just hoping against hope that someone would still say it was okay though...:p

Well, in that case, I am happy to enable you. GO FOR IT, WENDY! }(

LOL and then I won't be able to run on Thursday rendering the whole plan useless!:p :7

Well, it can be done! I did DM on Friday & then B & G on Sat!! I was feeling it, but I did it! Both are awesome workouts!! Good luck, Wendy! :)

Hmmm well here is my rotation-
Mon -DM
Tues-B&G
Wed-LIC
Thurs-B&G
Fri-1 hr cardio (KPC or Cardio Fusion)
Sat-entire Body Max (not including bonus cardio)

I'm not sure about B&G after DM, but I did the opposite, kind of: the upper body/cardio DM premix the day after B&G. I don't know if I could have done all of DM after B&G, because I had/have a massive case of lower body DOMS. ANYTHING after B&G will make your butt talk to you! I'm not sure about the other way around, though.

Heck yeah! Go for it! I don't think there's any inherent reason to seperate them. Do DM, and see how you feel the next day. If you're not feeling too bad, do BG. If you're feeling bad, do BG :p Okay, or maybe do a shortened BG premix that might not feel so bad.

What's this I read? Are you back at work? Old job or new job?

Wendy the issue is not that you can't do it. You certainly can do it. It just may be a difficlut run on the third day after two days of exhausting your legs. If you do go ahead with it, it might be wise to keep your expectations low during the run. Perhap it would be wise to keep your run flat and slow; an easy run to keep your legs loose.

Hi -

Thought I'd weigh in - I am following Cathe's Nov. rotation and did DM Friday, then a run on Saturday - and I have to tell you that the first time through DM made my rear end sore enough I struggled to give B&G my all with even a day in between. It didn't hurt my run so much... but from now on I may try to schedule those two workouts at least 2 days apart.

Not so much that it can't be done, but for maximum recovery and to make sure I'm able to use good form and give each workout my all.

Just my opinion!

Oh Gosh Ladies! Now I'm TRULY confused! LOL :7 Maybe I will take the advice of doing DM on Tuesday as I had planned all along and then seeing how I feel on Wednesday for B&G. If I feel good, I will go for it. If I have DOMS in my L/B then I won't! So many different perspectives! That's why I love this place!:)

I can't do the DM premix idea b/c Tuesday is the day that I promised myself and others that I would do DM in full, as produced!

Hey Sandra!

I picked up a job at the beginning of September. It's VERY part time but I needed to do SOMETHING for my sanity's sake. ;) I work in my gym in the day care room 3 hour shifts 2 to 4 days per week in the mornings. Real easy stuff and Joey comes with me!:)
