One of the many things I love about my BF is that if something else comes up on a night he would normally spend with me, he texts me and says "is it OK if..." I'm hoping that it's just the way he's putting it, because I certainly don't want him asking my permission. But it's nice that he makes sure I won't be angry. They have a TKD Master in from Korea for this week visiting who will be leaving tomorrow. "No! You can't go make him feel welcome and enjoy yourself for a couple hours because I want you at my house!!!!"

I just give the obligatory, "oh. :-( yeah, it's OK. I'll miss you"

My DH does this and we've been married for 12 years. I don't think he is really asking my permission. More just being polite. It's sweet though!!

Yeah, very endearing indeed. He made a point of saying he'll come over afterwards. Of course, I'll be asleep by then, but he's still welcome to come over and wake me with his snoring.
