August Jogglers

Hi you two!

Alisha - Glad you had fun, but sunburns aren't! Ouchie! I hate when I eat well and feel good about it and gain weight! I'm sure it'll fall back off again!

Jane - Sounds like you had a wonderful 50th! Mine is now only 9 weeks away! Can't I put the breaks on? I know I don't feel 50 and act goofy and have fun all the time, but man, I still don't want to have to deal with that number!

The meetings yesterday went almost an hour over, so I ended up not staying for the workout. I wouldn't have ended up leaving until 5 p.m. with an hour's drive still ahead of me. I cleared all my workouts off my schedule and am going to try a straight Turbo Fire workout for a while and see what happens.

Here's to another try!

Today, the other RI Coach and I finally secured a place to hold our Fit Club workouts! I'm so excited! We'll be providing a place for people to come and try Beachbody programs free and with no obligation. Hopefully, though, it will inspire some or, even better, all of them to start a program and get healthier and fitter!

Have a great night!

Here's is the workout we did tonight. It rained so it wasn't too hot but we are keeping an eye out for Hurricane Irene. Right now, she looks to be going east of us.

Dumbbell Complex - 4 Rounds of 6 reps of the following using heavy weight.
Bicep Curls
Rows
Upright Rows
Side Lateral Raises
Tricep Extensions
Chest Press
Then 3 Rounds of the following
2x Driveway Runs
1x Farmers Walk
20 Swings
2x Driveway Runs
1x Farmers Walk
20 Jumping Jacks

Tricia ~ Glad you had a good time at the event on Saturday. I love your idea for the Fit Club. The number doesn't bother me. It's just weird to think 50, you know.

Hi Alisha!

Nice workout Jane! Thanks for the new ones you sent by email! I plan to NOT be 50 physically - EVER! lol Let's beat it together!

I got a 2nd workout in this week! Woo! Turbo Fire HIIT 15. I watched a webinar tonight for P90X2 and now, I'm wanting to do P90X - yes, again! lol It looks so amazing, but I know I won't be able to come close to doing Phase 3 unless I get through another round of P90X first! It's incredible! So many cool new things and new toys! Also, weekly prizes for those who pre-order! So excited! It will ship for delivery in time for Chirstmas. I'm seriously considering pre-ordering! Should get enough of a Christmas bonus from work to cover it!

I have until Sept. 1st to decide. That's when pre-orders start.

That's my exciting day!

Tomorrow is supposed to be a rest day from Turbo Fire, but I feel like I should keep the momentum going. Probably do a Cathe workout - ooooh, or maybe play with my kettlebell! Yeah, I'll do that! Go outside do some swings, abs, jump rope, swings, pushups, etc. I'll take a look at some of yours, too. Not quite comfortable with some of the other KB moves with the 12 kg bell yet to try them on any high rep basis.

Have a great night Jane!

Hi Alisha!

Yesterday I did a leg workout like I did last week. I am really feeling it this morning.

6 Rounds - 10 Reps w/40# barbell (240 reps total)
Back Squat
Zercher Squat
Thruster
Sumo Squat
Then - 24 stiff legged deadlifts, 24 calf raises, 100 sit ups.

This afternoon it's going to be a circuit. I left the workout at home so I can't remember the exercises.

Tricia ~ Yay...for getting a workout in!!!!

A long time ago I made the decision to simply add the number of my age together, that way the oldest I would be was 19. So...I am officially 5. How cool is that? Most of the times I act like a 5 year old...ok...maybe not.

You should definitely got outside and play with your kettlebell. This is a really good workout to do outside it's called the Prisoner workout. Do 15 swings then farmers walk to the other side of the yard/room, then do 14 swings, walk back doing the farmer walk with the kb in the other hand. Do 13 swings and walk back...keep doing this until you get to 1 swing. Do not put the kettlebell down unless you absolutely have to. For a bonus I usually add on some walking lunges and bear crawls doing squat jumps at each end. It will take you 30 minutes tops and really gets your heart rate going.

Hi Alisha!

I did the cardio only premix from LIC this morning. I did an hour of yoga last night. It was the first time in nearly a month since my leg injury. My neighborhood is all loose gravel now, I don't feel comfortable running in here so I am going to have to drive just up the road to find a good place to jog. There is a lake nearby and the community center and the local grocery store are also options. I don't think the Safeway will care if I park over there and its open, has a trail and is visible from the street.

Tricia- Don't worry, my Dad started counting backwards before he turned 40 and now if he wants a beer, I have to buy it for him:eek::D I always think that P90X is just way over my head.

Jane-You always have such great workouts! I hope to be fit like you someday!

Alisha

Hi ladies!

Jane that leg workout sounds like a killer one! Whew! I'll act 5 with you! Actually, right now I'm still 13! I hated that age! Can't wait to be 5 again!:eek:

I will try that one! Don't think I'll be able to get outside again though until sometime after Monday. Rain tonight through the hurricane on Monday. :( I'm a bit nervous about this one. Hope it weakens a lot before it gets here! When I'm able to get out, I'll try that workout! Thanks!

Alisha - Glad you're back to your yoga again! Yeah, I wouldn't want to run in gravel. Hope you can keep running! If I have to travel to get there, I have a lower likelihood of getting it done. That's why gyms stopped working for me. I think your dad had the right idea! :D I should have done that! Darn! ;)

I did get my workout in today! Fire 30 today. I have to tell you that the maca powder is fueling me so well that I'm powering through my workouts really well without that mid-workout slump. It feels great! Tomorrow is Fire 55!

I'm going to try to find a group to start P90X with (one more try before P90X2 comes out!). I'm hoping to get some new customers on who'll be fired up for #2!

Have a great night ladies! See you tomorrow!

TGIF!!

Ok...I have some catching up to do.

Here is my circuit workout that I did on Wednesday. This one is hard - pure cardio. I used the garden hose as my marker for the traveling lateral jumps.

5 Rounds - 40 seconds work/20 seconds rest
Band back rows
traveling lateral jumps
mountain climbers
swings
med ball slams
jump rope

Last night was a 5K run. Boy...it's still hot and next week it is suppose to be close to 100.

I taking a rest day today as I have a 10.5K tomorrow morning.

Tricia ~ Don't play around with the hurricane. Stock up on water, batteries, flashlights, candles, food, etc. It's better to be safe than sorry. I haven't been through that many bad ones - just a couple of tropical storms and a Cat 1 hurricane. I have been watching Irene for a week now. At one point we were in the cone but I have been praying for weakening and taking a sudden turn to the east.

Alisha - Thanks! I just pulled a couple of crazy workouts for the Labor Day weekend. We usually do the Murph but I've done that so many times that I'm played out. Some of these workouts are from the Spartan website and are higher up there on the intensity scale.

I don't think the Safeway will mind if you park in their lot. I have done that tons of times and nothing has happened. I hope your leg continues to improve.

Have a great Friday!!

Jane-Its hot here too, without the humidity though.

Tricia- I think I might try that Maca powder stuff.

I did 5 miles with run boosts with Leslie Sansone this morning. Tonight will be some Shiva Rae Yoga. Tomorrow will be RS.

I got bumped up to the 'recruitment day' at the Apple Store, I might be an Apple Store employee for the rumored new Apple product 'roll out' in Sept. Its kind of sad that Steve Jobs is basically retiring.

Alisha

Happy Friday!

Jane - No worries. We're stocked up. I, too, am praying it continues to weaken, but they've been evacuating our coastal areas today. Earlier, they were calling for a strong Cat 1 when it hits us. I'm just glad to be more inland and up high. Praying it weakens!

Good luck in your race tomorrow!

Alisha - Hey! Cool if you get the Apple job! That sounds like it'd be fun! Glad your leg is feeling better! Yeah, we're waiting for the new "release" with great anticipation! I can only imagine that Steve Jobs is getting sick again. He's still Chairman or something of the Board, so he'll still be involved.

Worked out again today! Fire 55 EZ. I'm telling you Alisha, if not for the maca, my workouts would be wimpier. I'm really pushing myself and not running on empty halfway through. Order it from Amazon though. It's waaay too expensive from Whole Foods or probably any store in town. Love the stuff!

Snacking on some veggie chips until Stephen gets home. He's at some orientation for school today and should be on his way home now. Probably won't get here before 6:30 and that's assuming he left right at 5 p.m. which I doubt so I'll be downright starving by the time he gets here without a snack!

Have a great night! Talk to you tomorrow!

Hey!

We're still here! Very windy, but it seems the rain has stopped - at least for now. I did get my workout in yesterday TF Fire 30. Taking today off just because I've been so stressed from the worst of the storm this morning. It was just core anyway and I can add that in on my regularly scheduled rest day. Guess we'll be going in to work as scheduled tomorrow. Glad the storm wasn't any worse, but an extra day off would have been nice!

Hope all is good for the two of you this weekend!

Tricia- I hope I get that Apple job too. I love days off.

I took today as a rest day if you think that 8 hours of video work running around with a camera and lights is rest:p I only had a bowl of cheerios for breakfast and then a kind bar for lunch. I had an egg sandwich with some cheese for dinner with some lemon ice cream for dessert. nummy!! Tomorrow will be MMA: Boxing.

Jane- Hows the weekend treating you?

Alisha

Hi! I forgot to post all weekend. It was a busy one for me. I did a 10.5K race on Saturday. I was 2 minutes slower than last year but I managed to place 1st in my age group, however I was the only one in my age group. My sister ran the 5K and met up with me at mile 4 to give me some encouragement and water. I needed it. I got home and spent 4 hours with mom helping her around the house. She had a really good weekend...I think she has turned another corner.

Sunday I got up and ran 6 miles, worked in the yard and did chores around the house. In the afternoon I went for a hour swim. That felt really good.

Today I'm doing a kettlebell-dumbbell workout. It is a traditional weight workout interspered with kettlebell swings. I will post it tonight or tomorrow.

Alisha ~ Hope you get that Apple job. How is Monday treating you?

Tricia ~ I'm glad you made it through the storm ok. It can be scary. There is another storm out there but it's too soon to see where it is going. I hope it just stays out in the ocean.

I have to get back to work. See you guys later!

Evening ladies!

I'm late posting, but had a team call and I didn't work out tonight. The stress from the storm yesterday and even my maca powder couldn't push me through today!

Alisha - You need to eat better when you're out running around! Tsk, tsk! Carry more healthy snacks!

Jane - I hope this new storm stays out in the ocean too! Wouldn't want to push my luck! No phones or internet at the office today, but we had power, so we worked. Ugh.

I did eat well today though.

Hopefully, I'll feel better tomorrow and be able to get my workout in! No, I WILL get my workout in!

Can you believe it. Mail did not get delivered today at home, so much for the dedication of mailmen. Sheesh!

I'm going to do some yoga tonight. I have that dental appt. then I have to go to the library and pick my Mom up from work.

Alisha

Alisha - Enjoy yoga! Ick on the dentist appointment! Hope you find some good books at the library! I used to love going with my mom when I was little!

I did get my workout in today - Turbo Fire HIIT 20. Felt good!

Jane - Hope you had a good day today!

I skipped the yoga last night. IBS was causing trouble. The dentist told me that I have an infection in my mouth and that I need to rinse my mouth with hyrdogen peroxide and floss a lot. Yuck:( But, hey, at least I don't need a cavity filled:D The infection explains the general feelings of inflammation, tiredness, and weight gain. That does make me feel a bit better, like it wasn't just all my fault.

I started the day with a 2 mile hike. My new polar FT4 arrived last night. I would normally use indoors but I had to test it to be sure it was in good shape. I don't know how I got it for only 60$. It seems fine and the original packaging was completely intact. Go figure. I have to take my Mom's car to get the oil changed. Tomorrow will be Step Heat early in the AM. At 9 am is my Apple interview/recruit thingy. I don't know what to expect.

I did find a good book at the library. Its Oprah's 'Dreams' book.

Have a great day!

Oooh, tomorrow there will be a new thread.

Alisha

Hey Everyone!

I'm a slacker. I forgot to post again. I took a rest day on Tuesday and yesterday I did the following workout:

Run around the block - approx. 600m
21-15-9 reps of:
Ball Slams
Push Ups
Jump Squats
Squat Thrusts
3x Planks (holding as long as possible)
Run around the block

My boss was in town for the last couple days. They had a big dinner on Tuesday night which I blew off. I hate to do office stuff after hours especially with this bunch. I'm not an engineer and although I get along with everyone, I have nothing in common with any of the them. After the blow up in 2009, when I was lied to, thrown under the bus and stabbed in the back, I am hesitate to do anything with these people. No one supported me or talked to management about the situation even though it was policy. Even corporate didn't follow their own policy. So they can talk all they want about being part of a team but when it comes to courage and standing on principle everyone is too scared to do anything. So...I have to listen them tell me what I missed and how fun it was....blah...blah...blah....leave me alone. Thanks for letting me vent!!

Alisha ~ I glad you know what caused your feeling of malise. I hope you feel better soon. Keeping good thoughts on your interview/meeting with Apple!! Is the book you got about dreams or about Oprah's dreams? I love READING!!! I've read 48 books this year and have a challenge on Goodreads to read 75 books by the end of the year.

Tricia ~ Hope all is well with you!
