Hi ladies!

Alisha - Wow! You guys have been ambushed! Sending you all healing energy and positive energy for acing that exam on Monday!

Jane - Great workout! No worries on the new workout! Just whenever you think of it! I'll have a nice collection for when I start my KB/running rotation!

Golf was fun, but exhausting! My hips and legs hurt! lol We walked the whole thing carrying our bags and I brought a 1 litre bottle of ice that had been in the freezer, so that added weight. Drank the whole thing. Luckily, they had water tanks at a few of the holes, so I could fill my bottle. It kept a hunk of ice and the water from the tanks was nice and cold too! I took snacks, but wasn't very hungry because I was more thirsty. I carried veggie chips and almonds. Next time, grapes and cherries, I think!

Tomorrow will be Legs. We're also going to Mystic Aquarium in Mystic, CT. We've always wanted to go.

I am going for a 3 mile run tonight after work. It's suppose to be a hot one again today but I can handle it because the humidity has been under 50%.

Tricia ~ Have fun at the aquarium! You had quite a workout yesterday. Great job. That's great that they have water tanks at the holes.

Hi Jane! The aquarium was great! I got to see the penguins! My favorite! They also have a few beluga whales that were absolutely beautiful! I've only seen them on tv before! We next went to the Mystic Seaport. That was pretty cool! They had ships you could go on and see, including a 200 year old whaling ship! It's the last wooden whaling ship in existence here. They are trying to restore it. They have a planetarium, but we didn't have time to get to it. It was a lot of walking - again. I'll take it! I think I have a quiet day tomorrow, so can get to my regular workout! Sunday is laser tag!

Alisha - Hope your studying is going well! You'll be ready!
 
My Mom and I had some terrible intestinal bug last night and so I'm taking a rest day. Thats ok. I had 4 workouts during ttotm which for me is really good. Tomorrow I will be back at it. I'm doing low max. Its one of my favorites and a go to during weight loss. Its low impact, not too over the top, and always works. I have to remember to do the laundry;) The air conditioner is on the fritz. It won't be fixed until Tuesday. In the meantime, I'm sleeping downstairs on the couch. Its a good thing I'm short.

Tricia- I love Penguins!! Studies are ok. At this point, I really don't know exactly what is on the test at all and its all a shot in the dark. I'm hoping that they like me and put me on the list.

Jane-Only 50%? Sheesh, thats positively desert weather! You could run all day in that!
 
Alisha - Sorry you two were down with a bug! Awful. Hope you're both doing much better today! Low Max is a great go-to workout! What a horrible time of year for the a/c to go out! Good luck tomorrow on the test!

Today we're going out for laser tag. We'll be leaving within the hour actually. Everyone's meeting at 1 p.m. It'll be much kinder and more gentle than paintball! Should be fun!

Back on track tomorrow with my eats and my workouts! I'm going to start my raw adventure hopefully this week, too. Got to get Stephen to pick up a few things at Whole Foods and the grocery store for me. I'm going to start with raw snacks and smoothies for lunch. I hope my blender/food processor can do the job for me for now!
 
What happened to the weekend? It just flew by.

I did a workout on Saturday morning that involved upper body work with traditional weights. It was 4 rounds 6x each of bicep curls, upright rows, presses, tricep extensions, and back rows. I just 20# dumbbells (except for the tricep ext). Then we did 1 round of 10 pull ups, 20 step ups, 30 swings, 40 ball slams and 50 sit ups.

On Sunday I went for a 10 mile run and then saw for 40 minutes in the afternoon.

Alisha ~ I hope you feel better today. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for your exam. I'm sure they will love you!

Tricia ~ How was laser tag? Raw food sounds interesting. Let me know how it goes.

I'm doing a workout tonight but I can't remember what I'm doing. I actually have the week scheduled but I left the workouts at home. I will post it tomorrow.
 
I'm taking this morning off. I will do LIC tomorrow. I did enjoy Low Max. Today is the big exam/interviewy thing. I will be done by 2 pm.

Tricia- Raw smoothies are fun for lunch. I love smoothies! Especially with frozen mango chunks. Laser tag sounds like fun! I'm in.

Jane- Thanks for the encouragement! I'm sure your workout is a toughie like always:eek:

Hi girls!

Jane - Great weekend workouts!

Alisha - How'd the exam go today?

Laser tag got canceled an hour beforehand. Typical of the crowd of friends we have. It was raining all day, too, so it wasn't like we could go play golf or bike or anything instead.

I'm having a hard time getting myself fully motivated on this workout plan of mine! All the starts and stops, birthday and vacation days, etc. I'm hoping to get back on track tomorrow and stay there!

I've got to shop for my raw food ingredients. I'll keep you guys posted on how it goes.

Well, the exam was fine. I think I aced it. What I can't tell you is whether I got on the list. Whatever, I feel good about it and afterwards I went to the soon to be closed border's store and bought a book about Hello Kitty, the history of her. I love Hello and have not had a day where she wasn't in my life, she was created in 1974 and I was born four years later.

I'm still planning on LIC tomorrow.

I did have a hot dog this afternoon. I'm planning on a smoothie for dinner. mmm... oranges, bourbon vanilla, and maybe some spinach for good measure.

Tricia- Thats lame! I would have played laser tag with you!
 
The exam was fine but the hot dog at this 'fancy' place afterwards bit me and I was up all night quite ill. I will get around to my workout at about 11 am. I kind of have the day off. I might have to go to the dentist later today. I am not sure their administrative assistant has been really weird lately. I thought my appointment was on the 30th and my brother's appointment was today. Go figure.

Here is my workout from last night.

6 Rounds
5 Pull ups
10 Swings
15 Squats
20 Push ups
15 Step ups
10 Sit ups
5 Squat Thrusts

Tonight my sister and are going to do a leg workout.

It's going to be 10 rounds of 10 reps of:
Back Squats
Front Squats
Thrusters
Sumo Weighted Squats

It's called the F***in 400 and it's a partner workout. She does 10 reps, I do 10 reps, she does 10 reps, I do 10 reps, etc. We'll see what happens. The Sumo's were supposed to be Overhead Squats but I am uncomfortable doing LOTS of those. I'll let you know what happens.

Tricia ~ Sorry the laser tag got canceled. That would have be fun!! Hope you get back into the swing of things regarding your workouts.

Alisha ~ I'm glad you aced the exam. All you can do is your best and what's meant to be will be. I hope you feel better! Enjoy your book. It's very bad when I have to say that I'm WAY older than Hello Kitty!!!

Alisha - Glad you came out of the exam feeling that you did so well! I'm sure you did! Now, you will be on that list! Sorry the hot dog got you though! Hope you eventually felt better and well enough to do your workout!

Jane - I'm way older than Hello Kitty, too, Jane! Don't feel bad! Nice workouts! That leg workout looks killer! I'm sure you two made it seem easy!

I hope I can get back in the groove again, too! I just realized a little bit ago that the last time this happened, I ended up switching to mornings and did great for a few months. I don't know what's wrong with me, but it's got to give! Maybe once I start changing my diet up, the energy will come back and I'll be kicking butt again in my workouts!
 
I don't know what I'm going to do for a workout today. I have to stay close to the house because the air conditioning guy is supposed to come by today. I don't want to do another step workout (2 days in a row.) I might do some Hula or belly dancing. I'm not up to down ward facing dog or any thing that requires sitting on my knees, so yoga is out. I'm going to spend the day on the computer working on learning Illustrator.

Tricia- I am feeling better. I think that I don't need to worry about wanting to eat that again!

Jane- Its ok to be older than Hello Kitty. At least you know who she is, even if she is a make believe character.

I forgot to check in yesterday. The leg workout I did on Tuesday was killer. My sister and I only did half of it (200 reps). Our legs were really wobbly after doing that. We did do 100 sit ups, 24 deadlifts and 24 calf raises afterwards. Still it was a great workout and I want to do it again.

Yesterday I did 3 rounds of 400m run, 50 jump squats, 50 swings and 50 sit ups. This was tough. My legs were mildly sore but this morning, they are screaming so I'm probably doing upper body stuff only today.

Alisha ~ I hope the a/c made it to your house yesterday.

I did a Hula workout yesterday and Step Moves this morning. The AC guy has not come yet:mad: and so my Dad called a different company, they are supposed to come today. Tomorrow will be a kick box dvd. I'm not running yet because the whole neighborhood is getting repaved and its all covered in gravel right now and I don't feel comfortable running on loose gravel, its really unstable.

Jane- You always have great workouts. How do you decide which exercises to do? I can put together a pretty good boot camp style workout with jump rope and other calisthenics, but you throw in a variety of other moves, how do you decide what to do? just curious.. .

Tricia-You might try changing up your multivitamin, maybe you are just deficient in something. I will feel run down if I don't get enough potassium, magnesium, and water. Do you have a sports drink after your workout? or one really watered down?
 
I might do a KB workout later in the day. I have to take my car to the shop to get freon put in. The AC guy did come yesterday and all it took was changing the air filter. Sheesh. My Dad forgot to do it and that was a week of hot house, bleh! I'm not tall enough. Tomorrow I'm going to Donner Lake to take pictures. It should be fun.

I didn't workout yesterday. I ended up taking a rest day. My legs were screaming and I was really tired for some reason. Tonight I'm going for a 3 mile run.

Alisha ~ I find many of the workouts I do on sites like Crossfit and Gym Jones. I often change them around depending on equipment, intensity or what I did the day before. So I not really making them up, just changing things around. Sometimes I like the pattern of the workout (like doing 21-15-9 reps) but I don't like the exercises, so I will change the exercise. I try to look for different workouts. I really like the workouts on Gym Jones because they use both traditional weights and kettlebells and I like mixing equipment like that. Also, I try to look around for different exercises. Mountain Athlete has a listing with demos for all their exercises. Some of them are challenging but it's always fun to throw in something different. So that is how I do it. I just try to do workouts with lots of variety that way you work lots of different body parts.

Okay, yes, I forgot to check in! You know what that means . . . I'm still not working out yet.

Alisha - Gosh, doesn't that just make you feel silly? lol Oh, well, at least you have cool air now! Have fun taking pictures!

Jane - Darn! Don't know why I haven't thought of this, but I should be writing down all your workouts now! I can go back and pick some of them up.

I have an all day Beachbody event today up in Natick, MA. Training and stuff. Everyone says they're fun. Hope so! There's supposed to be a workout at the end of the day. I hope that's a fun one!

I did have fun taking pictures yesterday but I also got a little sunburned so I am taking a rest day. I will be keeping a stern eye on my eats today. I put on a couple of pounds, I have no idea why, I thought I was being good. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

Hi Alisha and Tricia!

I took a rest day yesterday. It was my 50th Birthday. Wow....it sounds so strange to say that. I'm just not feeling it. I'm feeling about 18 right now. Anyway...I went to lunch yesterday at my favorite place in town and had fried catfish, fries and a hush puppies. It was so good. Then had cake and opened presents. It was a low key party but that was fine with me.

This morning I ran 10 miles came home and did a bunch of stuff around the house. I was going to go swimming but it started thundering and has been for about an hour. We got a sprinkle of rain. It's raining somewhere but not at my house.

Alisha ~ Glad you had fun taking pictures and getting some sun. That sounds nice.

Tricia ~ Hope you had fun at the Beachbody event.
