As soon as you can, PLEASE let us know if you're ok after Hurricane Jeanne! I hope you, your family, pets and friends made it through with no major problems.

The way you guys keep getting hit every few weeks, everyone in Florida must be thinking about leaving all the plywood and tape up until Christmas!

Having lived in Boynton beach during Andrew, I know all the preparations and accompaning anxieties are SO tiring! But to have done that 3 or 4 time now, I can't even imagine!

My thoughts and prayers are with you (& have been from the start!)

:D Hi Nadine! Yes, I am here and fine! We stayed through Jeanne which was a category 3 hurricane! Our apartment is fine, luckily it is only one year old and up to hurricane code! Our apt. faces the west, so I was able to stand outside our porch and watch! It was quite scary watching all the transformers blow and hear the tree crack! I have heard there were tornadoes during the storm but because this happened at midnight, I do not know how you tell the difference from a tornadoe and the hurricane. There has been a lot of flooding and of course the hardest part is no ELECTRICITY! I worry about my two overweight pug dogs and of course my 8-year-old daughter. We are going on 4 days now and it is hot down here! We get ice and military food daily from the reserves. Sometimes I question why I ever came down here, but I keep in mind that winter is coming! As you know we have only been down in Vero since July and then two hurricanes hit us directly within 3 weeks, how amazing is that? Thank you so much for your concern!

I'm so glad to hear you all made it through ok! I have been keeping up with the damage photos on the Palm Beach Post site:

It is astounding! What water and wind can do boggles the mind!

I didn't realize you had only been there a month! What a welcome for you. Trust me, it won't always be this bad! We lived in Florida for about 4 years ('89-'93) first in Boca Raton, then in Boynton Beach. I'm so curious as to how our old Boynton house made out.

Just wondering...with no electricity, How in the world are you getting on-line? Cellular?

Again, glad to hear you're ok, keep hydrated and cool! :)
