At what point do you get mad?

Just need to vent a little. Why can't people do things right the first time? IDOT (Illinois Dept. of Transportation) has been out several times to "fix" problems and everytime they screw something else up. They dumped some rock behind our house to help with the drainage. When they did that they left HUGE ruts in the ground from their equipment. Even though it's their property we still have to mow it because they don't. So they came out yesterday and leveled it out. When they did that they ended up lowering the level of the ground a good 6-7 inches below our fence line. Which means that eventually it will settle and then we'll have a big gap under our fence. UGH!!!!! So I called them this morning (I know they just love hearing from me) and told them about it. He said well I guess I'll need to take a look at it. He also said "The more we have to keep going back there the more we tear up the other peoples property." WELL IF YOU'D HAVE FIXED IT RIGHT IN THE FIRST PLACE YOU WOULDN'T HAVE TO KEEP GOING BACK THERE!!! At what point should I start being rude? I tend to be really mousey and shy when dealing with things like this. I don't want to make them mad. But I'm so tired of this kind of stuff. Sorry to complain. But thanks for anyone that listens.

I've been trying to get back into my workouts. But last night I skipped my workout because I had a guy coming to look at our tree. Well, he never showed up. So not only did I not exercise but I still don't have a price to cut down this tree.

Ah the good old DOT. I deal w/them all the time.

Call your town's administrator (or city manager or whatever) & your mayor. Also call your congressman and/or senator. Especially the latter b/c they control DOT's funding. I'm sure they'll be able to help.
