Today I did 10-10-10 for the first time. First I nearly had a coronary when I got to the step phase (don't you love the way I'm always whining about Cathe killing me), then during the supine french presses my triceps started melting like candle wax, and finally on the tricep push-ups I collapsed to the floor like a big sack of potatoes. You really know how to make an experienced exercising gal feel like a total BEGINNER, Cathe. I wouldn't want it any other way, though!

By the way, can anyone tell me how to get those smilies to appear? I'm clueless.

SMILIES!!

Smilies are easy! Just put a colon, a slash, and a parenthesis together with no spaces in between : - ) (Without the spaces) For a frown, use a(
For a wink, instead of a colon, use a semi-colon ;
Let us know how you do. Hope I made sense.

Your smilies will not turn blue until you preview or post your message!

I'm SO with you!

I'll tell a little story I already told at VF (VFers, just skip me here). . . when I did 10-10-10 last week my triceps were SO toasted from all the previous work that when we got to triceps push-ups I did them on an incline, with my hands on the step, as a modification. Well, I did a few and then I reached muscle failure big-time. . . I just FROZE in the middle of a push!! I hung there for a moment before I could even let go to collapse chest down on the step. Then I was STUCK!! I literally could not push up enough with my arms to get off my step! They were totally DEAD. Finally I pulled with my knees to DRAG my chest across the step and practically rug-burned my chin doing so. Talk about embarrassing! I thought "THIS is why I work out at home!" --ha! You're right, Cathe does have a way of making us all feel like rank beginners! Humbling experience, working out with Cathe is! (gee, that sounded a little Yoda-like didn't it? hehe). Today I did Step and Intervals. That restored my confidence a bit.

wow, Susan!

LOL you poor thing, you REALLY must have been fatigued!!

I didn't use the heaviest weights possible for the tricep exercises in 10-10-10 because a) I didn't get a chance to preview this tape and had no idea what was coming and b) my triceps were already sore, sore, sore from the kickboxing in the previous tapes. Even though I didn't use my heaviest weights, I did still feel them, oh boy--not quite to the point of failure like you experienced LOL, but fatigued? Oh yes.

And btw, I loved your referrence to Yoda

. You could say I'm a bit obsessed with Star Wars *heehee*

I can ...

..hardly wait to try 10-10-10 Susan! At least when I get to meet you for the 1st. time, I'll know that you will be the one with the scab on her chin! LOL! Thanks for the funny story. You always make me laugh!

I have a tear in my eye!

Me? Queen of smilies? I never thought I'd hear that.

And talk about muscle failure! I've never heard of them failing that much. Way to go! We should all have your gusto.
