are you a spur of a moment buyer?

Hi my name is Karie and I'm a spur of a moment buyer (wave). I thought of this after the action hero babe thread. I can't tell you how many workouts I have bought right when they come out just to get them only to realize that either a) i didn't really want/need it or b) i didn't wait long enough to read reviews and i was dissatisfied. Its not just with workouts but I do it with other things like memberships to things, online clothing, supplements, etc. Am I alone on this one or are some of you out there like this. I need CBA (compulsive buying annonymous) LOL

I can be this way with certain items, especially exercise DVDs and books because I enjoy them so much.

I've learned to temper the urge by putting things aside for a week. If after 7 days I still want to buy it, then I go ahead and make the purchase. Since I started doing that, I've discovered that I change my mind and end up NOT buying the item about 85% of the time.

Then again, there have been times when a spontaneous purchase led to great things. My first Cathe DVD (Bootcamp/ME) was a spur-of-the-moment, bought-in-great-frustration, middle-of-the-night transaction, and it was one of the best things I've ever done for myself. :)

I am a spur of the moment buyer, I'll give you that.;) I love the latest and greatest workout.
BUT, I feel that does not include AHB.
You know as well as I do, that on paper, the sequence of Valerie's circuits are wonderful and easy to build on. The DVD release was a huge disappointment.:(

I'm very happy to report that I am not tempted in the least to purchase RevAbs.
I'm off the bandwagon for now.:p

I think we need a bandwagon intervention thread somewhere.:D All the sensible buyers talk the impulsive buyers out of the latest and greatest- useless gadgets and workouts.

The promo workout was nothing at all like the clips they show. The clips make it look like it's a cardio based program.

I am the exact opposite of a spur of the moment buyer!

I rarely buy anything when it first comes out, prefering instead to wait on the reviews by others to determine if it will be right for me.

Usually by the time I've purchased a workout, it has been out for at least 6 months and I know pretty much what to expect. Using this method has worked for me for years. I have very few workouts that I do not like or don't do, and I never have to sell anything because it isn't for me.

Also, I have never pre-ordered anything... but that probably goes without saying!

Geez, i need to hang with you for a while and hopefully some of your traits rub off on me :) I hope to be like this. One day at a time or should i say one buy at a time LOL

I have a tendency to be an impulse buyer with workout DVD's.
Just yesterday, I was in Walmart and saw a "10-minute solution" DVD with leg, glute and ab work. I put it in my basket and was going to buy it.

Luckily, I had some more shopping to do, and by the time I'd finished, a bit of common sense kicked in (I have MANY workouts I haven't even done yet!) and I put it back on the shelf.

Will be my new best friend. You can hold me back!!! Workouts, shoes, clothes, kitchen widgets, you name it. Love me some shoppin'!!!! I've gotten better over the years. Case in point, last weekend I put back some purple metallic snake print platform hooker heels. Although I still want them badly and dream about them daily. *sigh* Growing up sucks.

Of course! ;)

You do realize, however, that I only have self control when it comes to workout videos. If it's clothes or shoes, I will enable you beyond your wildest dreams! Trust me!
