Are Cathe users "weight losers" or "muscle builders?"

Again I am newly thinking of getting into Cathe from the Firm. I was wondering if most of the users of Cathe are people looking to lose weight or people who have completed their weight loss and now are working on sculpting lean and hard bodies? I would imagine by the intensity that the Cath workouts seem to be, that Cathe users are serious exercisers and fitness enthusiasts who are working on refining a hard body. Would that be a correct assumption?

RE: Are Cathe users

Hi, I am a former Firmie as well. I would love to lose 10 pounds, but my main goal is to have a lean, hard body. That is so much more important to me. I think there is nothing sexier than a lean sculpted body. Skinny with no muscle tone just doesn't do it for me. It's so funny because just yesterday I was using a 30lb barbell for pullovers......the same exact exercise that the FIrm used to do with the 8lb. sculpting stick. WOW, what a difference. But, I am not knocking The FIrm. They were the ones that totally hooked me into working out on a regular basis and at home. I just "outgrew" them. Cathe is exactly what I needed.

RE: Are Cathe users

I need to lose some weight but also want to get more defined muscles.

RE: Are Cathe users

I'm both. I'm looking to lose weight and add muscle. I'm definitely a fitness enthusiast - far from serious. Working out is fun and challenging for me.

RE: Are Cathe users

Cathe work outs can be great for both! Yes, there are many people here who are looking to lose from just a few pounds to 20 or 30 pounds and beyond. There are also many of us here who really have no weight to lose but want those sexy sculpted muscles on a lean body. }(

RE: Are Cathe users

I think there is a diverse (and wonderful) group of people on here with all types of fitness goals. Cathe workouts are great because she has so many that do so many different things. I totally heart Cathe...she's so motivating and fun!!!

RE: Are Cathe users

This is one of the main reasons why I left the firm 2 years ago. I just felt that they could do nothing more for my body and I needed to step it up. Cathe was the answer! I still needed to lose those last stubborn 7 pounds, but now that they are gone, thanks to Cathe, i'm working on getting more firm and more muscle. Don't be intimidated by her, i'm sure you will love what she has to offer! My first video was Imax 2/Cardio & Weights. Just watching I knew I was hooked. It took a while to get her steps down, but it's so worth it. I've been working out to Cathe for almost 2 years now and i've never looked back.

RE: Are Cathe users

I'm at about the weight I like, but I'm looking to exchange fat for muscle (an on-going process, and I find that it's something I have to keep up with, because any slacking---which I've done over the last few months:-( x( ---means I have to work just to get back to where I was 'pre-slacking.'

RE: Are Cathe users

Both. I got into Cathe for her amazing step workouts, but, recently, I'm really doing a lot more with weights than ever intended. I'm loving the GS upper body workouts, Butts & Gutts, and Pyramids. I've also added Jari Love's Slim & Lean, Ripped 1000, and Ripped to the Core to my collection. I really want to build some strength and definition.A year ago I would not have believed that I would be enjoying weight work like I am now. It's just a progression that has happened from using her workouts and this forum. I am not working on consistency.

Good luck in your fitness journey!

RE: Are Cathe users

I'm both, and I think you'll find a good mix of weight loss, sculpting, and boths here. I figure if I work on sculpting as well as weight loss, when I lose the weight, the muscle will be there. 2 birds with one stone and all!!

RE: Are Cathe users

I have used Cathe to gain weight, muscle weight. I've managed to get any sort of muscle definition I have using Cathe weight workouts. :)

RE: Are Cathe users

My goal with Cathe is to have a healthy lifestyle. I believe the perks are losing weight and having a lean, scuplted body plus looking really young.

RE: Are Cathe users

I originally started with Cathe because I LOVE step aerobics, and I wanted to look good in my bikini this summer.

Here I am, 2 weeks post-vacation, about 10 pounds lighter, and definitely starting to see more definition in my muscles (which I am STOKED about).

I will love Cathe and spend my early mornings with her for many months and years to come because she makes me feel great about my body, and makes my body look and feel great.

I am on a rotation now that is much more about building muscle (upper body, specifically) than weight loss.

I came to Cathe in the beginning with goals of weight loss, but will stick with her to help my newly slimmer figure stay toned and muscular.

I don't want to be skinny and weak, I want to be fit and strong. And I want that because CATHE made me want that.

Aww, I am teary-eyed now. ((((((((((((( GROUP HUG )))))))))))))))

RE: Are Cathe users

Instead of weight loss, I'd have to say I started Cathe's workouts to increase cardiovascular endurance. That certainly HAS happened! :7 I liked her cardio workouts so much that I gave her weight workouts a try and have never looked back.

RE: Are Cathe users

I am definetly both. I would like to lose 50lbs. Which is the hardest thing I have tried to do. Quitting smoking was way easier.

I discovered Cathe on fit tv IMAX2 first workout, tried to do it with an imaginary step. (LOL):7 Went out purchased the REEBOK step, continued taping Cathe workouts off of FitTV, then discovered this board and started buying. Now I'm a Cathe addict.(LOL):7

My weight doesn't budge as much as I would like it to(my eating habits are not good) but there have been definite changes to my physique. ;-)

RE: Are Cathe users

I'm done with losing weight and am just looking to maintain the weight loss and to build muscle mass. I lost 35-40 pounds doing Taebo about 8 years ago. Cathe just took me up to the next level.

RE: Are Cathe users

I don't know that the two are mutually exclusive. Personally I exercise both to lose (or maintain, depending on which day of the week) weight & have a hard body. I've been doing this for almost 19 years & neither goal has changed. I've just added one: avoiding injury.
